Also can anyone tell me if there is any truth to Sion playing at the stade de Genève? Don't seem that logical to me. Sion is a long ways from Genève, ~2h by train. I know the new stadium is a long way off, isn't the Tourbillon good enough? I really want to go back there, I love that stadium. Or is the talk of Genève only for the UEFA games?

That is unknown right now. I think that playing in Geneve for the UEFA cup matches is a go. Where they will play there SL matches is a mystery right now.

Thanks for your help. Do you know if you have to have an EU passport to play in the challenge league? If so what are the player resrictions?

I really didn't think Ciri and Murat would start their coaching career this soon...

A bit risky for Luzern. But hopefully Sforza will use his contacts to get some good players

Nestor Clausen is the new trainer of FC Sion.

    Another risky one...

    The FCB verdict is in:

    - CHF 80,000 fine.

    - Two matches with no spectators.

    - Three additional matches with a closed Muttenzer Kurve.

    All in all rather moderate...

So no points deduction for 06/07? It seems FCB have the Swiss FA in their pocket.

My first post - glad I found this place!

So who do you guys think will win the title in 06/07?

I'd love GC to have a go, but the lack of defenders is worrying...

    Welcome to the forum!

Basel will be out for revenge

FCZ will continue to develop with their young squad

Young Boys have made some smart moves and should be involved in the race. They better get a new keeper though. There was some talk about Herzog of Schaffhausen.

Yeah GC do need some defenders. Why not Deumi, Mangane or even Milicevic?

Mr. Hornet, I wouldn't worry too much - GC haven't had any 'defenders' for about three years!!

On football.ch, they announced today the fixture list for the first part of the season (starting July 19th). They also heavily mentioned which matches will be the games of the week for www.teleclub.ch. Is this a change in rightsholders for the upcoming season? More importantly, will this impact our ability to see the highlights at http://www1.sf.tv/sfsport/?

Basel played Dinamo Zagreb in a friendly and Ivan Rakitic was the Man of the match. Naturally he got a lot of Croatian journalists interested and it seems Croatia has already asked him to play for them...

    We can't lose this guy!
He's the most promising attacking/creative midfielder in the country. Köbi is a real idiot if he don't call him up for the next game...

you should still be able to see the highlights. Apparently the rights for the live game for the german speaking part of Switzerland have changed from Sat1 to Teleclub

However, in the french speaking part, the matches still should be shown on tsr2, so in any case you would also find the highlights at www.tsr.ch/sports

He has a lot of talent. The problem is he hadn't got a chance to play for Basel so far. Now, as Delgado has left, Gross should give him a chance to proove he can replace Delgado, before buying any other south american player for 5mio

The only problem is that he's more of a winger than a central player. But he's quite versatile so maybe he'll play as a number 10...It would surely be the best for the country
