Sources: FC Cincinnati kicking the tires on signing Joe Gyau. Club hold his MLS discovery rights, see him as a good fit for the 4-3-3 they're trying to implement. Parties have had preliminary discussions about a deal. Nothing imminent, but worth keeping an eye on this summer.— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) July 3, 2019 Joe Gyau possibly to FC Cincinnati of the MLS

I've never understood why we use "table" to mean "halt further advance" and the brits use it to mean "advance". The American usage just doesn't really make sense.
My "favorite" in soccer circles is "nervy." The American version means "gutsy"; the Brit version means "nervous." Almost opposite meanings. It's a lot like "sanction" or "resign" -- the words have almost contradictory definitions.
well there is a common idiom in America "on the table" https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/on the table When something is on the table, it's an option, especially one that could be negotiated. If someone offers you a job but you haven’t said yes or no yet, the offer is still on the table. When two people negotiate something — like a contract — they often do it over a table. When something is on the table, it's up for discussion. If an employer and a union are willing to discuss pensions, then pensions are on the table. If one side won't budge on something, then that topic is off the table. that's kinda how I meant it FYI
From Churchill’s history of WWII The British Staff prepared a paper which they wished to raise as a matter of urgency, and informed their American colleagues that they wished to "table it." To the American Staff "tabling" a paper meant putting it away in a drawer and forgetting it. A long and even acrimonious argument ensued before both parties realized that they were agreed on the merits and wanted the same thing.

Erik Pieters is op weg naar Burnley. Hij werd onlangs ook door PSV gepolst voor een terugkeer. Daarnaast is de komst van de door PSV gewilde linksback Chris Gloster (18) bepaald niet zeker; zijn club Hannover 96 vraagt naar mening van de Eindhovenaren op dit moment te veel geld.— Reon Boeringa (@reonboeringa) July 7, 2019 ....the arrival of the PSV wanted left back Chris Gloster (18) is by no means certain; his club Hannover 96 demands too much money from the people of Eindhoven at the moment.
I don’t understand this line up one bit but Mihalovic starting is no surprise. Word out of camp is that he’s been sharp and one of the best players in the past 2 weeks. Hertha Berlin watching tonight and I’m sure a few others as well. https://t.co/kMbdOjTzis— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) January 27, 2019 Hertha Berlin watching Mihailovic?
One American looking less likely to head to Germany is #DCU and #USMNT U-20 midfielder Chris Durkin. Multiple Bundesliga clubs interested but I’m told the $3 million price tag put on him by DCU (more than RB Leipzig paid for Tyler Adams) is pricing him out of a summer move. #MLS— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) June 28, 2019 DCU's price tag on Durkin prohibitive for German interested parties?
