    ¡Penal para Francia!

Un franchute ya se había llevado como 3 de los nuestros y lo derribaron en el área.

More than 3 1/2 GAMES into this tournament and there has NOT BEEN ONE SINGLE GOL! That says it all.

In this match... France started out trying to steamroll Mexico... but Mexico settled down after 5 minutes... then proceeded to ensure a stalemate. Towards half time Mexico had the control of the match, but no options to score.

In the 2nd Half... France has been better and recovered control of the game... still not much action on either goal.

BTW, Mexico's #2 looks like a very classy CB.

Hopefully, next game they play better. They were lucky to get a tie on this match.

Very dissappointing match by the boys. Overall, France seemed to be a little bit better. Mexico needs a lot of physical training.... it has been a very long time since I have seen a Mexican NT be so tired at the 70th minute.

Most of these French kids already get significant play time in their first division... and it showed. Some of the Mexican kids were getting juked way too easily. Nonetheless... there are a lot of salvageable things about this team and just needs a few adjustments to be more competitive.

The wussy looking #9 player generally sucks (I think his name is Santiago Fernandez)... but he should be on the field... if anything to absorb some pressure off the real players like Morena & Maya.

I expected a little more from Olvera... but I guess its hard to shine as a Left Winger when the rest of the team is so limited.

I think mexico play allright.. they missed up alot at front, they made a lot of bad passes…what missing in the mexico forward is a speed demon to open up more goal opportunities / Olvera was the best player for mexico on this game he step it up on the second half but it was to late.

The problem is that Peru 2005 has changed our expectations ;) We will no longer be satisfied with hanging in there at the Youth level... we will expect nothing less than Superiority!

Mexico had a lot more dangerous plays on offense in the second half. I dont why Morales did not start since out of all the players hes the one who can offensively beat players one on one the easiest. In the second half once he and fernandez, who isnt that great with the ball at his feet, came in the team improved. With fernandez they finally had a forward that could hold the ball up top and have players make runs off of him.
Olvera was probably one of the better ones but for someone who more than likely the best player on the field you would expect more. He should have been more aggressive in the first half. Cardenas was probablty the biggest dissapointment because he usually plays pretty well in atlante. Robles, with the exception of a couples passes was perfect as libero. He could cover extremely well and helped the two center backs when needed unlike old man suarez who on the national team does not have the speed to cover for the other two when they get beat. Hopefully Fernandez and Morales start next game and they get Meza, who when he tried usually beat his man one on one, and olvera more involved.

Morales was the best player, I thought. He should start from now on.

The result was OK, but we would really need to improve if we want to make it to the next round.

From all the players Cardenas is the one that should be the most worried, a lot of hype has been build around him, he usually plays fine but he must deliver with the NT, there's way too many players that can play his position and if he doesn't show his game he could find himself watching the 2008 olympics in his house.

The left side in the comming olympic squad has to be toughest in years. Just look at Guardado, Morales, Avila from Chivas, there's a kid Urbina fom Monarcas that plays well, the world champ Esparza can play there too and also the world champ from FC Barcelona Jorge Hernandez, just to name some guys that could leave Cardenas out of the Olympic team.

I'm not really surprised the offense isn't working quite well, after all, the coach didn't got his wish of taking Valadez of Toluca and the strikers of Pachuca Landín and Arellano.

Yet, I still wonder, why Luna didn't called Vela and/or Dos Santos?

Maybe he did tried but their teams didn't lend them, or maybe it has to do with the fact that Chucho Ramirez is gonna call them for the tour of the U20's and he doesn't want to overwork the players, that would also explain why other players from the U17 WC were left out of the squad with the exception of Hector Moreno.
