I can tell you, I feel much more macho now. no more "whining" about things! no way! I had the "intestinal fortitude" to "pull the trigger" on not only a neg rep button, but a public reply button! I feel like such a manly man now. because neg repping a poster is SUCH a fu!@#king manly thing to do!

This is Florida. They don't have to get out of the way. We just arm the manatees and they plug the bastards driving the boats in self defense.

only if they feel threatened by them.
personally, I think the manatees, as well as their human advocates, need to grow thicker skin (one literally the other figuratively) so that boat props don't bother them. evolution will take care of the former, as for the later, who knows...

and yes, I'm just kidding. settle down, you sensitive types.
okay, now I'm done with this off-topic discussion - again :D

The water cops should set up concrete manatees and see how the boaters react to f*cked up motors and hulls.

nature has taken care of that too - called sand bars and shoals. it'll do some serious damage to an outboard engine.

There's at least a dozen or so hunters every year that end up getting killed on deer/elk hunts because they're out on their own with and never see or hear the mountain lion stalking them.

    Re: Stand Your Ground

Surely in this case ballistics would have given a swift insight into how this boy was shot?

Well, we already know that the kid was unarmed and based on the phone conversation, we can probably conclude that he wasn't the aggressor. I'm not sure how much more the forensics can tell us at this point.

    Re: Stand Your Ground

Ballistics can probably tell us a whole lot. One of the reports of the various 911 calls said he (Martin) was face down on the ground. If so was he shot in the back or did the impact of the round spin him? Did Zimmerman shoot him while on is back? Was he standing over Martin? As much as I believe Warren Epstein had issues with black people and was clearly looking for a "fight", outside the court of popular opinion (which I subscribe to) this isn't a cut and dry as it appears on the surface. In other words, they'll still have a hell of a time proving Zimmerman didn't feel threatened.

    Re: Stand Your Ground

Seeing how the police let this guy walk away with the murder weapon I would assume alot of valuable evidence is long gone. This whole thing has been handled terribly from the very beginning,

Did they definitely allow him to take the firearm? In most cases the weapon is confiscated at least through the duration of the investigation.

    Re: Stand Your Ground

Maybe I misunderstand your point, but the shooter was arrested in a technical sense. The police just didn't charge him at the time, because they apparently didn't think they had enough evidence to hold him. They can always come back and charge him later if they change their minds (just watch Law & Order or CSI on TV).

I read another article that says that according to the police report Zimmerman claimed that he had lost track of Martin and was walking back to his truck when the victim attacked him. Seems clear that he is lying and raises the question of why the police didn't immediately see a problem with his story. Wait, the kid just out of the blue jumped you from behind? Why would he do that?
