    Ah-ha!

    Can I also say this:

My scarves are on my dresser folded up neatly.

It's been so long since I've worn them...I weep when I pass them.

Bad week to be French and involved in soccer.

Interesting to see what we'll be able to do with an actual coach and a local one at that.

This move seems totally for financial reasons. Lets be honest, Coach Schilly has no professional experience at all. Now Kante is gone. ...........Its all about the Benjamins

I think there is an element of cleaning house here. It kind of looks like Anelka was the Vaid's guy and Kante was Anelka's guy. Admittedly, you normally don't see this mid-season.

Whoa, whoa...KANTE?! That's the first I'm hearing of this.

    Son of a bitch.

We were chatting on Facebook about the club, like, last week.

I think maybe AC St. Louis was guilty of maybe overshooting a bit to start things out - internationally known director of player development, coach whose last name was well-known in the soccer community (because of his brother), a former MLS star. I don't know how things are going to turn out on the field, but this is probably the direction they should've gone in the first place.

agree with a lot of this. Also there are rumors that many of our players are way overpaid compared to their experience and similar level players in the league. Several of these players were brought in by Filho and Anelka. There may be more players that get bought out of their contracts for the future good of the team.

True, but that being said, Schilly was my youth coach at one time. (1985-ish).
He was an excellent coach then. He's had 25 years to improve.
On top of it, he's a stand up guy.

I think this will be a good move for the team.

A lot of the time the quality of the coach doesn't mean as much as how the players will work for them. If they weren't happy with Anelka but like Schilly then this will be a good move.

That's true. This isn't American football, once the game starts, the coach doesn't have as much control over things.

And if last night's match was any indication, these guys are very motivated to play for Schilly.

Klinsman said it best after USA loss to Ghana - stating USA has to rethink their program and has the pyramid upside down - parents pay for soccer hoping their kids will get a scholarship to college not to play professional soccer.

I think his move by AC-St Louis is typical of the mindset of wannabee soccer greats this country and will only hurt us in the long run - College soccer is horrible and so are the players. ACSTL Hack team in a hack league - end of story - yippie!
P.S. - if you don't know what a CV is - you may be part of the problem.

And....the players didnt like the training session? This was supposed to be the future of USA soccer. Sounds like a bunch of jealous babies to me....maybe they got exactly what the wished for...or maybe what the deserve.

What they deserve? A new coach?

Yeah, if the previous one couldn't motivate his team, then they deserved a new coach. And if Saturday night's game is a sign of things to come, then the new coach is a great fit, because they played really well.

If you really hate the team and the league so much, why are you on this forum? Learn to enjoy live pro soccer like the rest of us, or just go back to your TV.

Here in the U.S. it's a very rarely used term. I'm assuming from your English usage that you're not a native speaker, so you may have learned the British version of the language, where C.V. is common.

Whatever the case, you're definitely not in a position to mock anyone's language skills, so let's keep the discussion soccer-related.

I do have to admit that my wife uses the term, it's a term used by psychologists as I'm sure it's probably used by other professions. That's how I'm familiar with it anyway.

also, if you spend any time at all reading soccer articles, blogs or listening to Podcasts, "CV" is something that's going to pop up very early in your fanhood. Google is your friend. Its not hard to find out what something is in today's world. But I digress.

Get a clue - don't know your backround but that was one sloppy match. And if these players need a coach to motivate them, then they really are not pros - they are college players at best. This whole mess is wrong on so many levels - don't know where to start. Fihlo was here to change the model in the US - and we let him leave. Wake up and listen to what Klinsman is saying. We have to change but that won't happen in STL now. Things were just moving in the right direction - but "ego" got the best of many. You think this is a good Futbol league? - good for you.

    No, it's a soccer league.

And it's what these passionate fans have, good or bad.

Kudos on being an elitist troll. You should be proud.

    Now go away.

Not a troll my friend...I actually have to hold back because if you knew what was really going on...you wouldn't be so proud....or perhaps you would...pulling out my interest in this club....later!

Awesome. Hey, your lack of interest is noted. Thanks for playing.
