as of now,Low is likely to stick with Werner and Waldschmidt. Not a lot of time left before Euros.

Shame that even for Eredivisie level, Lennart Thy remains a subpar striker. His club won 6-2 today and he played the entire match but did not score. While a different striker comes off the bench and scores 4.

Often a frustrating finisher, I remember watching him at St. Pauli.

Volland has looked pretty mediocre so far for Leverkusen in the CL match vs Lokomotiv. Apart from the missed header off a corner kick just before half time he hasn't shown many chances. They even moved him out wide to accommodate Alario subbing on and playing centrally. I don't see how Volland would contribute anything different to the NT.

and Fullkrug was taken out in training in a duel with Goller and is now injured. Sheesh at how these things happen and never got the need for aggressive play in training, it's always a waste when players get taken out by a teammate in training.

    Fullkrug is done

He tore his ACL once a season, maybe he just isn’t fit for the game anymore

Will be injured even he’s shopping at Aldi’s

Füllkrug is basically another Ginczek, what a shame. The list of injury prone German strikers is endless.

Schieber, Lasogga, Ginczek, Füllkrug...the case of the wasted striker due to injuries continues. Further back, but Helmes is another example from the earlier 2000's. Felix Platte has pretty much already landed on this list getting heavily injured every year.

Waldschmidt is only a bench option for Freiburg right now since coming back from the international break

Interesting to see that Ragnar Ache and Mergim Berisha, two young strikers that are eligible to represent Germany but spend their formative football development years abroad, are seemingly doing better than many of their German counterparts domestically in 1/2 Buli. Both have been quite productive to begin the season at their respective clubs.

Not German but it also shows contrast, former Dortmund/Bochum youth player and Greek international, Vangelis Pavlidis has scored 6 goals in 6 matches this season in Eredivisie.

not a very fair comparison at all since the inferior Eredivisie and Austrian Bundesliga it's easier to breakthrough than in Germany yes, even 2BL isn't as easy when the league is an old man League.

that they are scoring and doing well there doesn't have anything to do with the guys who are still in Germany, not comparable.

if you recall Berisha was loaned out to 2BL last season and couldn't even get on the field even as a sub and called it quit in Winter going back to Austrian Bundesliga.

as for Ache, he went and played in a smaller club with more chances.

been saying it for ages, German strikers should consider moving abroad, better than the German pyramid of 1BL, 2BL, 3rd Liga, RL, just too many levels and too time consuming.

so are Holer and Mamba the best 94 CFs? Both seem to have come out of nowhere and 0 German caps at any level and doing well enough in 1BL.

while Ducksch once again does well in 2BL, will be curious if he gets another 1BL chance in future. While Glatzel finally scored in Cardiff just took 6 games....

Pretty grim situation for senior level strikers right now with Volland not relevant, Uth being awful at Schalke and injury prone, Füllkrug and Ginczek always suffering serious injuries, and Selke unable to score.

Looks like due to his inefficiencies at scoring, PEC Zwolle have converted Lennart Thy to a midfielder. Similar thing that happen to Lukas Görtler when he was at Utrecht before.

good to see Glatzel picking it up as he scored his 2nd this weekend in a 2-2 draw in the Championship. Anything less than double digits by the end of the season would be a major bust on his part.

who knew that career 2BL striker 32 year old Hennings would do well last season and this season in 1BL.
already at 4 goals in 7 games in 1BL this season.

looking back at his career, biggest mistake he made (sounds like Glatzel 2.0) after having 2 consecutive good seasons in 2BL he decides to go to Championship instead of 1BL. After flopping there, he's forced to go back to 2BL and only got to 1BL due to his club getting promotion. Had he avoided that route he would have been late 20s when he got to 1BL and not early 30s.

I never get the whole moving to England just to play Championship if your playing 2BL.....

speaking of England based Strikers, haven't kept track of Norwich much this season but looks like 94-Srbeny has already made 2 sub appearances in EPL. LOL in Germany he was a 3rd Liga-5th division player. Then moves to Championship for 2 seasons before being in EPL. He's basically 3rd striker after Puuki and Drmic.

I still don't have much expectations for Srbeny, he's pretty much just filler at Norwich. He wasn't even an efficient scorer at all in the Championship.

I don't either he's pretty much 3rd Liga level but congrats to him on making it to the 1st division, although expect him to end up leaving and end up in a 2nd division.

Waldschmidt continues to play lately. He still doesn't have the aerial ability, but if he bulks up and adds muscle, he can be a solid striker for Germany. He's got the scoring touch which is lacking in many German striker prospects at the pro level.

according to Freiburg fans, Waldschmidt stopped playing for awhile because Streich was biased in using Holer instead. Waldschmidt now at 4 for the season, shouldn't have problems scoring double digits which is good for a club like Freiburg.

while Volland also scored his 4th in a 1-1 draw vs RB Leipzig.
now at 4 goals and 3 assists in 7 games.
