Weydandt was very good , whenever he plays

Dominant in the air n actually fairly quick

Always a big threat. Many Hannover fans questioned Doll when he subbed Weydandt out and used Bobby Wood instead

Wood isn't good anyways, main problem of Weydandt is if H96 get relegated.

Volland is pretty good, currently feels like Uth doesn't deserve a call up.

as for Waldschmidt, him hitting 10+ in 1BL, Serra likely 10+ in 2BL and J.Eggestein maybe hitting 5ish in 1BL that's pretty good for U21 players.

Next major international match is March 24th vs Holland.

Realistic call up options right now are looking like Werner, Selke and Volland.

Uth hasn't shown enough overall and hasn't cemented himself as a full starter. However, I'd imagine he's still on Jogi's radar based on most recent opportunity. And could get himself in better form by then.

Terrible management. Arp will be worth at least 4 times that immediately after signing based on potential alone. Once he starts playing a few games for Bayern then in a year he'll quickly be worth at least 10 times that, if not much more.

Not sure if it's injuries or he just became the odd man out, but Ducksch is left off of Fortuna's match day squad vs Stuttgart

speaking of Waldschmidt doing well post HSV, wonder how Arp would do leaving? Most would say that Arp has much more potential that Waldschmidt.

Hendrik Weydandt plays well. Not the most skilful not crazy amount of goals, but he is very very useful for Hannover : he can win duels when against 2-3 defenders, he is relatively quick n can be a huge headcase to defenders

I think he is decent. Makes me wonder do we have such type of strikers in 7th or 8th division ? Can we produce them there?

For CF, I think physicality is the key for success. It helps u get into first team when u are completely dominant physically.

People talk about scoring rate, but u won’t get the scoring if u never gets promoted to first team or startelf

I don’t think Weydandt will choose to leave Hannover. Because they save his career completely

But looks like they won’t get relegated this season. I m expecting Nurnberg n Stuttgart

Arp's situation at HSV seemed to have soured when they sacked Titz, and how he was particularly vocal about it on social media because he was quite close to the former coach. HSV and Bernhard Peters going separate ways also seemed to have a negative effect on their club youth integration work.

Hanslik at Wolfsburg is another player who needs to leave in order to take the next step in their career.

Arp was said to have stayed only because he thought Titz would help develop him and when he got sacked it changed the whole situation. That's the thing so many players their real chances to 1st team really is more linked with the coaches.Could be favored by one coach and less by another. And their club youth integration seems to be degrading.

other players that need to move up besides Hanslik are guys like Daferner, Stark and Engelhardt. Not counting 99-onwards. They've already played more than enough time in II, they need to move up in Summer.

do wonder if Kleindienst is let go if Daferner gets chance or not? Or whether Engelhardt will get chance in 2BL if FCN get relegated. If not these guys will have to take the long route to ever get into 1BL.

Wouldn't mind if Daferner seeks out different options this summer tbh. His contract expires, and with the the front 4 of Petersen, Waldschmidt, Niederlechner, and Hoeler not really expected to be on the move, it's not exactly expected for Daferner to find himself immediately in the rotation. IMO he's approaching an age and club scenario where 2BL would be better for his development next season.

Looking at Waldschmidt, he's starting to remind of young Kruse. Similar development path at Freiburg and basically the same height. Kruse started getting bulkier later on in his career.

yeah Daferner to 2BL makes sense that's the probable next step. I hope he doesn't go to 3rd Liga though.

as for Waldschmidt and Kruse that's an interesting comparison, Waldschmidt is also flexible in positions like Kruse too. But unlike Kruse seems unlikely to get blacklisted. Him like others young ones will likely bulk up over the years.

Sad reality Fortuna don't think Ducksch is good enough for the BL. After a certain age or point in one's career, performances in the second division doesn't mean anything.

its why best chance for most of those 2BL guys is that their clubs get promotion.

Shame that Ducksch isn't making a breakthrough. Was rooting for him to get his career back on track. But Fortuna don't consider him 1BL material. So he'll either remain an underused fringe doesn't really matter first division player, or goes back down to 2BL next season even if they stay up. Ducksch, Yesil, Thy, Hofmann, Mlapa, Sukuta-Pasu etc all former youth prospects that don't pan out for different reasons.

Hofmann's level seems to be 3rd Liga, Yesil we will never know since injuries destroyed him, the rest are pretty much 2BL tops.

Yesil's signing at Uerdingen seems to be one of the most pointless this season across the Top 3 tiers of German football. Only made 2 brief appearances early on in the season, but has been 100% off the grid for around 4 months now

Looks like even Kenan Karaman who starts vs Leverkusen, has moved ahead of Ducksch in Fortuna's pecking order

Lennart Thy is falling off course and hasn't been productive several matches later at PEC Zwolle. From what I've gathered in his career, Thy is a good person, decent footballer. Able to combine with other players and is fairly versatile. But a poor finisher, he lacks the natural scoring instinct required and decisiveness in the final third to make it at the top level.

Mark Uth has been so poor this season, he's regressed so much with Tedesco at Schalke

Prefer Volland and Selke now, based on current form

Volland is the best pivot out of the three. Can play back-to-goal, hold-up game, involves in build-up play.

i think Selke is better aerial threat. Timo Werner mainly for counter.
