Bad luck for Werner...could have scored 2 goals...one blocked by Sule which Keita scored in rebound and the other was again goal line save by Sule...Werner is having a lively game

-Zoller scored his 2nd of the season as Koln beat Bayer 2-0.

Pascal Kopke scored a brace for his 8th and 9th goal in 2BL to win the important game as his team fight relegation battle.

Goal #8 to make it 1-0.
    https://streamable.com/mj7ph

Goal #9 to make it 3-1.
    https://streamable.com/2eluw

now should be able to hit double digits in his 2nd consecutive season in 2BL.
2016-2017 season, 10 goals and 3 assists in 33 games
2017-2018 season, 9 goals and 6 assists in 28 games.

his stats this season are also better than the last.

Gnabry is primarily a winger (even if sometimes he plays CF). He's better than Draxler that's for sure and having a better season than Schurrle and Gotze although he lacks that Europe and International experience, which is what gives those 2 or 3 the edge. Was mean of Low in dumping him to the U21 in Summer instead of the CC. Telling him to be a leader in the youth.

Uth I believe was mentioned before as someone who's playing style is closer to Werner than Gomez/Wagner who are more of the old fashioned strikers. Given that it's understandable why it's more of a Gomez vs Wagner than Gomez vs Wagner vs Uth. Selke fits more of the Wagner/Gomez type.

Seems like Lennart Thy who plays in VVV in the Eredivisie on loan has numerous options for next season. Return to Bremen, make his VVV loan permanent, Celtic FC are an interested party as well as other clubs wanting him.

Gnabry will get his chance if he returns to Bayern next season and gets minutes. He's showing the talent to make it at FCB IMHO.

I put him towards the bottom of the list in terms of German striker whether for club or country.
It's fine to be arrogant when it's deserved but Wagner isn't good enough, all which makes him look like an idiot.

now the Celtic boss is refusing to rule out buying Lennart Thy of VVV. Not a great League, basically something like #25 in Europe although could be a chance to play CL football.

also if he joins Celtic, he would join fellow German Marvin Compper.

Pascal Kopke with assist #7 as Aue won 2-1 to get the 3 pts.

meanwhile in the Championship Denis Srbeny scores his 1st goal in a 3-1 win.

fantastic assist by Uth for his 7th of the season.
    https://a.pomfe.co/qjislh.mp4

in 2BL, lol the flop big Phil Hofmann scored his 2nd of the season. All the guys who scored this matchday have been mid-20/late 20s and early 30s strikers.

Not too concerned about the age thing

Isn’t Gnabry used as a striker for Hoffenheim by the way?

Maybe not this game but mostly

I think it has a lot to do with teams’ tactics.

Most teams only played wiTh one starting striker nowadays. Either in 4231 or 3421

Teams generally preferred proven n experienced strikers at the CF spot. Probably 25 or after

it depends on the team/formation sometimes he's a SS other times he's a CF other times in his real position as LW. It doesn't matter don't think Bayern will play him as a CF unless the case of emergency. Nor will Low consider him as a CF option.

My problem is that most of these 25+ year olds in 2BL not convinced they have what it takes to do extremely well in 1BL. Would say that had Ducksch been more convincing/consistent we could have had a decent prospect from 2BL instead it seems lacking.

Apparently if teams all play with 442 with two centre forwards like Stuttgart are doing, we will have more striker prospects emerge

Maybe doubled or even tripled as 3rd striker is also relevant.

But that’s not the case nowadays. 90% of teams play 4231, 433, 3421 or 442 with two false 9s

it's why David Otto is at the right club since Hoff have plenty of games with 2 up front and Uth/Gnabry are out this Summer. They seem headed towards EL and striker wise all that is left is Szalai and Kramaric, even if they buy a new striker there should still be chances to play.

maybe once Stuttgart is safe guys like Hottmann will be given chances this season. While Hamburg seem interested in guys like Wintzheimer etc.

most other strikers seem headed towards loans or moves to lower divisions.

Yes, if Jesaja Herrmann stays at Wolfsburg, I think he will most likely converted into winger. Even he’s big n strong

Simply because Wolfsburg might go after an experienced n proven striker

Maybe Makanda will have his chance since Frankfurt play with 3-5-2 under Nico Kovac

ugh, when guys like Osimhen, Dimata etc have done absolutely nothing up front all season and they get to play CF. Osimhen even started some games. What a waste. Osimhen is becoming Y.Otto 2.0, different coaches all stick with him as if he's done something.

Would be a shame if Herrmann becomes a permanent winger.

Makanda going to Frankfurt is good since Dadoshov doesn't play for Germany anymore and seems headed out in a team that barely plays Germans. Had he fixed his unprofessionalism, he likely would have been promoted and it would have added even more players who don't play for Germany.
