New keeper in goal. Looking a bit let down coming off the famous win against Real Madrid. And, Winks is down. The week I added him to my fantasy team.
too many players with the touch of sissoko in the first half son and aurier have been awful, IMO eriksen not enough influence
hope auerier gets sent off because while he is on he is harming spurs rather than helping. its like playing 10 v 12 right now
can someone just dribble the damn thing into the corner and kill this off? sheesh way too open for my liking
sissoko may have a brick touch but he is the one midfielder that kept up the intensity the whole match
awful performance, 3 pts. sometimes that's how it is. new keeper made some nice saves, but errrg, he still green. really got lucky zaha missed the open net, cuz the keeper was way late on getting to that ball
Job done. Not pretty. But, that's often how teams that are championship level look after a big game. Grinding out a win is still 3 points.
Aurier is gonna be a poch project, just like lamella and sissoko. definitely gonna be a work in progress season with him
Easy to say in hindsight but Poch should've rotated the squad even more. Winks has done well in the past month but he looked fatigued. Midfield looked more composed with Dembele.
Lloris, Vorm, Alderwiereld, Alli, Wanyama all injured. Winks and Kane got hurt in first half. But we still won and kept a clean sheet. I'll take it. Lots of sloppy stuff out there, it wasn't just Aurier (who I think was a good pickup). Lorente is looking like a taller Roberto Soldado. We need a backup for Kane who can actually score goals, not just take up space.
Yeah, but he is also a vastly different player than Kane, so the tactics and style will need to be significantly changed. I noticed on Wednesday how Spurs significantly changed/got lost when attacking after Kane was pulled off for Lorente.
It is going to be really hard to get somebody good who is willing to be a backup to Kane, and they are not going to spend the money to get somebody good enough to compete for the starting spot. The douchebag manager that called us "Kane's team" is partly right, in that he is irreplaceable. That is the one position where we really don't have a reliable substitute. And "the guy who scores most of your goals" is a rather important position.
Spurs are "Kane's team" far more than him just scoring goals. Kane passes, defends, opens space, holds the ball, etc. And just as important as him scoring, he also has shown that he can drive the team forward, even without scoring.
