More. The assist that broke Barca's back in the CL(or were there two?) came from a soon-to-be pensioner on Chelsea
I think he's saying your numbers say we're actually better this year, where as you said it does seem that we're not much worse. I see what you're saying, but wanye seems to think you actually don't understand the numbers. Anyway, what will be interesting will be to see the whole year. We had a couple of lengthy periods of truly scintillating form last season offsetting a horrific start and a couple of small depressions later in the season. If we don't have any of those long high-flying periods (we may actually be in the midst of one now as crazy as that sounds to some people) this season we'll surely end up worse off than last.
Nope. I'm saying I don't get a shite what the numbers say. It's pretty obvious to anyone who has watched the two seasons that we are a lot worse without him.
And I would have made the same assessment and yet the numbers don't show it. We lost the best scorer and our goals went up? Our defense looks like they are playing "Marco Polo" in a backyard pool and our goals conceded go down? I would think that what this tells you is that it isn't how we are scoring/conceding but when (losing 1-2 many times can be masked by winning 7-2 on occassion) but that doesn't explain the points tally. If the points are up then, by the only measure that counts, we are "better". Yet, we all know it doesn't feel that way. I go into every match far more negative than at any point in the Wenger era. Is it because this is now a "Groundhog Day" thing were you can take it for a season or two but the depression is cumulative? Was Twain right and there are "lies, damned lies and statistics"? Or is it just that we, for the first time, have to watch the latest star player we sold making his magic in OUR league?
For me: none of the above. Last year after 20 games, we were 12 pts off first. Now, we're 18 points off first. Last year, we managed third place...I highly doubt we'll get that high this year. Frankly, although we may be a couple of points higher right now, I expect us to finish with a lower point tally as well. Those are just data points though...to me, the real evidence is simply watching the games. I would much rather watch last year's team this this year's. The quality of play, movement and fluidity has dropped...especially in the final third.

Looks like Belhanda is off to Fenerbache, I though he could have done well in The Prem. Odd move imo. Will probably end up at a mediocre Spanish club next
Was Sahin ever given a proper chance? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ortmund-ready-sign-Liverpools-Nuri-Sahin.html
newcastle is not a cultural institution. spurs, in fairness, is due to the billy nic era. IMO, that's a major factor of big club status.
with villa's current defence in front of him i'm not sure any keeper comparison would look good. (for similar, see recent slaughtering of foster's career elsewhere on here). saying that.....last season he did very well with limited villa appearances, and did very well at hull too.
