I noticed it, and I like the way it looks....but we aren't wearing those jerseys anymore, and after seeing that mockup I suspect Ivy Funds wanted their name to be bigger.
there's a probably a balance between the namespace/logo being large, and the namespace/logo being legible on players during broadcasts, in still photo action shots in the match reports, etc. they probably don't wanna build brand awareness about Y FU.
Found out today that Ivy Funds did get naming rights at the stadium..... naming rights to the Executive Suite Level that is.
I was at a dinner party last night. Good people, sports knowledgeable, but nobody really thinks much of soccer. One works for WR. The discussion of Ivy Funds sponsoring the team came up. I usually think of the team sponsoring the product, but this was an example of it working the other way around. If you have no clue what switching the ball means, the shirt deal can still grab attention in non soccer spheres too.
From everything I have heard and the talk on the event Friday at work, both organizations view this as a true partnership where both parties benefit beyond the obvious advertising/cash portion of the deal.
Congrats on the new sponsor !! http://www.football-shirts.co.uk/fa...e-deal-for-its-first-ever-shirt-sponsor_17817 Here is another photo of the away shirt with the sponsor. Looks good.
BUMP. Any thoughts (or guesses) on the new sponsor now that Ivy has come and gone? I'll go first. Garmin could be an interesting local one
Technically we still have one more year with Ivy Funds. I'll throw Children's Mercy out there as an option that won't surprise me given the club's work.
How many clubs have the same jersey and stadium sponsor? I don't care really who the sponsor is, just hopefully something not super shady. I'm way more concerned if they'll create a jersey that I actively like again. :/
They have a lot of years already planned out apparently. https://www.thebluetestament.com/20...nolds-joins-the-show-sporting-kansas-city-mls But I'm with you, I've been underwhelmed with 4 of the last 5 the last indigo secondary was the last one I really liked, though the last primary grew on me. The graph paper, black, and the tire tread jerseys haven't enticed me to purchase.
Spot on. Everything has been downhill since the state line jersey. Simple, clean, clever, and unique. Oh well. I guess it was too hard for Adidas or something.
Are there cliff notes on the podcast? I don't have an hour of my brain's time to devote to listening. I'm in the same boat... I don't yet own a jersey that has the current MLS logo on it. Always I hope for next year, it seems.
i'm guessing that the new sponsor will not be local. considering what i've heard about jake reid and what we've seen over the last couple years (where it's less about being local and more about cold, hard cash), this seems the more likely option. unlike many of the other things that have changed, i actually care much less about the shirt sponsor being local, provided it's not some garbage MLM company or has a really tacky logo.
