Premier League makes an official statement: “The red card for Son was for endangering the safety of a player which happened as a consequence of his initial challenge."

I guess it would be the usual 3 game ban for a violent conduct.

Would be hard to overturn this given that Son had no intention of going for the ball anyway, and was probably a revenge for Andre Gomes elbowing him earlier. Harsh red, but would be very hard to appeal this.

Yea, I think you're right. Even if they rescind the red, I think he should take some time off maybe.

I don’t think they’ll bother appealing the red card given the circumstances.

I wonder if he’ll even be mentally and emotionally ok to play against Lebanon and Brazil in a couple of weeks.

Son would've felt even worse if he stayed on the pitch. He would've prob substituted out but still..

Yellow card at worst. It's not like Son put his cleats to his damn ankle and snapped it. Gruesome, freak accident. Does not at all deserve game suspension.

Son needs to toughen up. To cry over this is crazy. Man up, dude. Get over it. You're not at fault, Everton players on that same pitch know you're not at fault.

This is a down season for Spurs, and unfortunately, it looks like a down season for Son as well. I hope he can turn it around for club. Not too late.

Rewatched the tackle after a few hours. The tackle was a yellow all day and was a cynical tackle. While Son may not be at fault, definitely not leadership material. Son's not free from any of this and if this carries on with him, then a lesson learned.

Oh yes, it's crazy for someone to feel at fault for a potentially career-ending injury.

I think the injury was caused by the collision with Aurier?
Although Son came sliding in with feet up/open he did not cause the injury directly.
And the goons on ESPN soccer were saying Son should shoulder the blame for this.
What a load of shit

How come no one mentions his fail 1 v 1 attempts per game. It’s getting pretty ridiculous, teammates literally wide open central.

The usual twitter racist abuse and nothing will be done about it, it's only a certain colour that gets all the attention. Anyway, I think Son will leave EPL after this season.

Red card will be rescinded. Absolutely not a red. Accidents happen in sports.

Maybe you should be punished for negatively changing the course of a players career. They're never the same after these. Just ask CYL. And yes Ive thought it about, and Id still want the jackoff to roast in hell.

of course. Im just trying to point out perspective. some of you guys are indifferent only because it isn't one of our players who's suffering. its a lot different around here when the shoe is on the other foot no matter the intention.

    overturned is overturned meh
