he has issues. pondscum is on the flip side of the spectrum and i find him to be equally insufferable

That guy is cancer. Funny thing is, many ppl agreed with him in the past without any valid fking points on that forum, and now they all praise Son like God.

A bit late to the party in terms of posting about Son's recent form but just how effin goooooddddddddd has he been of late? His play has at times has reminded me of dare I say it, Ronaldo. Sonaldo is a befitting nickname!!! Now seems an indispensable member of the Spurs starting XI, great to see Poch and his team-mates have so much faith in him! Keep it up Sonny, we all love you!!!

Is there anyone better than Kane in positioning himself to score? Anyone better in capitalizing?

Southampton has been shutting down Son by crowding his side, happy to let Aurier have more space. Too bad he can't cross to save his life.

Sonny is under the bug spell as well Poch revealed pre-match. Lloris and Eriksen were worst hit with the flu. Under diff circumstances Sonny would have started on the bench today but they need the 3 pts badly. Sissoko starting over Lamela also reveals a lot. Either Lamela still not match fit, or Poch doesn't quite trust him yet to give him a start in what has become a very important game for Spurs.

Sonny off for Lamela. no excuses but you could see Sonny was not feeling his usual self today. tough OG but Spurs really need a goal to pull this out, they can't drop pts here.

Damn didn't know Son was sick too. Maybe it was a bad idea to go to Barcelona for training midweek since drastic changes in temp and airplane travel are primetime for bugs to hit.

These dropped points are also Poch's fault imo. SIssoko was horrible and needed to be replaced by Lamela at 60'. He also went incredibly far in testing the ref's leniency on Dembele when Wanyama was available. It's also his fault that he has no other attacking options because he didn't give a single PL minute to George Nkoudou who understandably got the hell out of dodge. Llorente is also pretty much dead to him for stretches at a time.

I love what Poch has done and he's brilliant, but he's also extremely frustrating at times.

yup, that's just the thing with Poch, where does it say that you can only make subs at '70? when everyone ahead of you got their 3 pts on Saturday, half your team is coming down with a bug, you gave up an early OG, pitch/playing conditions poor and Sissoko, Dele and Dembele are poor, how can you game manage like that? even more so, Aurier cost him a sub and he brings Wanyama on for Dembele when they need a goal.

after all that, if Kane had been a little sharper, he could have salvaged everything for them in the final mins. he looked run down too.

for me, Dele and Sissoko were so frustrating today. Eriksen was greatly missed. and altho Sonny didn't impose himself on the match, the run of play never really ran down his flank. regardless, you could see it in his face, he was looking run down.

Llorente needed to be played. Anyway, the decision not to sell Sissoko is odd imo.

Didn't they decide to sell him but couldn't find any buyers?

well they payed - what £30M for him? that's crazy money now. probably the reason why Poch has played him as much as he has. they have to hope he puts together a good run in X number of games to get some return? it can be the only explanation for all the starts he's been given.

your guess is as good as any of us here. they hoped to pay £15M for him when they first started queries. which team would pay even £20M for him now? again, probably the reason why he's still a Spur. Levy was not willing to take such a loss. but we can only armchair GM and speculate. apparently there was Juve interest at one pt, but that seems bollocks and classic British tabs.

Verts, Dier, Kane the only regulars starting. but at least Dembele and Wanyama get more mins to get back to regular form. against an opponent like Newport County, nice to see Foyth and KWP get starts. No bench announced. Lamela should be starting but he has a glute problem.

LOL! they're down 1-0. Trippier got out jumped on a cross. and really, Spurs should be down 2-0.

was looking bad for Spurs. but Arry scored with 7mins left, assisted by Son. beautiful flick on to Kane from a corner, Kane left completely unmarked for an easy tap-in.

    1-1

Sonny and Harry save Spurs. Tottenham get the replay @wembley. the pitch looked atrocious and lighting was laughable. Wembley should be a diff story for Newport.

they needed something 'worldly' to score and they got it from Sonny. gorgeous flick with the side of his foot. Kane will again get the headlines for saving Spurs, but tbf, Sissoko could have scored from Sonny's flick . doesn't happen today w/o that touch of class from Sonny.
