I took an emissions test because my check engine light turned off randomly. Saved me throwing money at the problem. So I'll spend it on Three Floyds instead. It's a dark beer day. I wish the fire were good enough to justify going back to MN. IMG_20180824_125116231.jpg IMG_20180824_131445331 (1).jpg

    Probably that bottled water.
Who knows where that is from, could be Flint.

Hopefully you build PCs better than you pick vodka. ;)

Oh, come now. I am sure that "Burnett's Vodka" must be one of Kentucky's top 10 finest vodkas.

Drank a bunch of that when I was in Rochester in May/June. Pretty good stuff, although it was pushing 100 degrees, so chilled urine would probably make my top 10 list at that point.

Gonna be in Lake Geneva for a wedding this weekend. Anyone know a good brewery/bar to hit up?

The only one with food in Lake Geneva is

Sprecher Brewery on Center Street, right across the street from the Lake.

It is very much a "family restaurant" atmosphere, but good beer and good food.
Sprecher Black Bavarian has been a favorite beer of mine for probably 25 years or so.
The Pub Ale, Scotch Ale and Amber are pretty good. Should be Oktoberfest time, as well.
(If the have the bourbon barrel Scotch Ale, grab it, it is very good)

Try the "Brat fries" (very lightly battered and fried strips of bratwurst, served with a couple of sauces).
    Evil, but delicious.

The other brewpub is Geneva Lake Brewing.
I have had their beer (their oatmeal stout is okay), but have never made it to the tap room, as the tap room has friggin' weird hours:
    Taproom Hours:
    Monday……. 11am to 3pm
    Tuesday……..Closed
    Wednesday….3pm to 7pm
    Thursday…… 3pm to 7pm
    Friday………… 11am to 8pm
    Saturday……… 11am to 8pm
    Sunday……… 11am to 3pm

I'm frequently in SW Minnesota and the Dakota's working . Grain Belt is pretty much the go to "throw six back " on a hot day. Wish they distributed into southern Wisconsin and Illinois. I like being able to drink "cheap swill" independent beer on occasion.

I'm 90% sure I ate at Sprecher a long time ago (maybe before 21 with family?). That would probably be a good spot to take the in-laws, etc.

Maybe the wife and I will hit up Geneva Lake Brewing before the reception.

    Thanks for the recommendations!

Well it's been a year so I bought a bottle of Stumbras 999 green in memory of a lost friend. I give it two thumbs up. If there were a middle ground between Jagermeister and Malort it's Strumbras green triple 9. GET WEIRD!!!
