Spent some of the afternoon (and a lot of my money) in the new Metropolitan Brewing taproom at Belmont and the river today, and it is a really wonderful place to hang out and drink great beer, even with the abundance of dogs and children inside of the place. As a Fire fan, it was fun to see a real live raccoon run across the river trail just outside of the floor to ceiling windows while enjoying the view of the North Branch. Reminded me of the good old days in Bridgeview, before DC became known as the team that has the raccoons inside of its stadium throughout the league. Highly recommended, and it doesn't hurt that Kuma's and Honey Butter Fried Chicken both deliver and bring the food right inside of the taproom to you (it's a bit of a maze getting in from Rockwell as there's still some construction going on around the building).
Been working 12+ hours 7 days a week since about June. Last building inspector just signed off on the 15 building 300 unit project . Let's just say my veins are coffee.... So the Fire were in the playoffs and blew it? I'm having a Wild Turkey 101 double and an Old Style tall boy backer. First time I've been home before 7 pm in ages and that's what I got. My kids are wondering who is watching sword and the stone with them.
Went to a liquor store trying to find some Shlitz to make a shlaptz after Portillos made me want crap beer. They didn't have it so got some jack Daniels. A little stronger eh
Wanted to get some this but, it was a bit expensive at $20 for a single beer. So I walked out with this Lot of metal beers huh? I saw the A toute la monde megadeth beer but, couldn't bring myself to pay $4 for 1.
Been touring the Ohio local brewing scene this weekend. Was at Mother Stewart’s last night and then Yellow Springs Brewery tonight. Neither place serves food, but both have a food truck outside to bring in. Not bad brew for Ohio.
That type of day. I'm not even gonna use a shot glass to measure how much that is. I think it's a good amount. Can't afford not to buy it for $19.96
Mimosas on Christmas morning with my entire family in outer bumf*ck Southern Illinois. Mimosas kind of suck. Families kind of suck. (Actually, my family is okay)
Glad I got the small bottle I'll be fine in a bit. Otherwise when you see me at fire games next year you'll know why. Unfortunately I'll have to drive myself
Maraska brand slivovitz rakia, a gift from a Croat friend. Says he's bringing grappa and pear rakias next time. He refused a shot of Malört.
