I recently bought some adidas ForMotion Elite Socks, and love them, except for one thing. My calves are way to big for them. The foot part fits wonderfully, but I just can't get used to the extremely tight calves. Anyone know of soccer socks that are like the ForMotion Elite's (VERY thin fabric, more like a shingaurd sleeve than a sock in terms of thickness) but are wider around the calf?
the Puma V1.08 socks are supposed to be very thin, but I haven't tried them so I don't know how they fit. I'm surprised to hear the adidas elites are tight because they don't seem to stay up very well on MLS players during games.
all of the new adidas socks fit much tighter then their predecessors. The Nike Classic sock is thin but it stretches out really easy. My recommendation is to keep wearing what you have and you'll get used to them.
Injinji socks. Guys you need to try this sock as a base layer. It is called "Injinji" it is a performance toe sock. It was originally for long distance runners, but now athletes are wearing them for all types of sports. I use them because it reduces blisters and hot spots. Also Arch and ankle support feel great. The thing I really like the most is you actually are able to use your feet to its full potential. Its like comparing a mitten to a glove. Now that there is field turf being placed all over the states. I highly recommend the sock because the friction from the turf and the shoe creates a lot of heat causing hot spots and blisters. Check them out:
http://www.injinji.com/ - they also have a dealer list there if you want to try your local running store eBay typically has the best deals for these socks, usually sold in 3 packs
I have a pair of Puma v1.08 socks. They are really thin and I really like them, but don't expect them to last long. Had mine over a year and they are still wearable, except a few holes. Some of the guys on my team had to get a new pair mid-season b/c the whole heel blew out after a handful of games. You might try underarmour socks. The pair I have aren't as thin as the v1.08's or the adidas formotion, but they are thinner than average soccer socks. Also no blisters on my toes like the v1.08.
Got these socks today at Ross for only $2. They had two pairs, and I kind of regret not getting the others too. Only downside is that they'll get dirty easily, but they fit and felt amazing. A lot better than the Adidas ones I've had.
Joma socks are the best i ever got. we bought a kit directly from joma 2 shirts 1 short and i pair of socks. they are long, thin, but durable and are not tight around the calf.
I have two pairs of these and they are pretty awesome. You can still find them in Nike outlets, but there aren't too many sizes available.
i have 3 pairs of the nikes in that post above this one, and they're my favorite. they're great socks.
^^^ its funny how you say how good they are, the one i got where rubbish. They lost there elasticity after a few months. love the design of them tho. Anyone know where i can still get those in the uk?
Im sorry for stealing your thread, but appearantly i can't create a new thread so... i have a pair of long trusox, the thing is, the part over my calves are not tight enough, so i have to tape then UP to make the shinguards stay in place. my idea was to clip of the top, and use my nike ones over there, but i don't want to destroy the sock. as all the socks ive destroyed in the past have teared apart because they aren't stiched up. Is there any way i can keep them together after ive cut of the top? thanks for help
these are the best socks. They fit Tight, have ventilation and Wicking Properties and look nice aswell. Nike BRAZIL III Socks
i am looking for a pair or two of red & black hooped socks... anyone? i keep finding some but they are pretty sketchy looking.
