    Re: Smolarek to Bolton?

should be interesting to see how that turns out... i think its a flip of the coin type of success, he could be good for them or he could be nothing special. i'm hoping he can be something special for them but then again, i wouldn't mind Ebi getting axed from the National side to see up top more of Robert Lewandowski, Pawel Brozek, and Piszczek (on the left flank)

seems like one of those defining moments, he can prove himself on what is now the biggest stage in the game, that being the PL, though personally i think LaLiga is way more entertaining, or he will accomplish next to nothing. he will definitely get pushed around in the PL, but i think he will rediscover his form and score 10-12 goals this season, or maybe i had one beer to many :)

Finally Ebi got to play again for Bolton. Came on in the 77th in today's match v Hull City, had one real good solo run through bout half the pitch with a shot that went over the bar. At least hes playing again after missing the last 5 PL matches.

In an FA cup loss vs Sunderland Smolarek finally shows signs of life. Maybe a start vs Arsenal is in the cards for the next round.

    On 73
Scores his first for Bolton in 79

Ebi's "fall" over the past 18 months is the most underrated story....
wonder where he would end up....would be great to see him back at BVB where he belongs

Good call on that. In the end we can keep the same thread to have player history continuity, I will just change the title when he joins the new team.

I really hope he lands with the right team and regains some form. He's long been my favorite Polish national to watch and I'd hate to lose his creative spark from the national team permanently.

Probably not. To elaborate further on marek's reply, although he's stunk up the joint in the last couple of years both for clubs and the NT, he still is something of a hot commodity - due to past successes - in the Bundesliga or the Netherlands, and will probably find a job in one of those leagues soon. However, if he's not able to find a club until winter, the Polish league or the MLS will become a last resort option. Although more likely will go to a rich Polish club (or Russian) before you'll see him in the MLS. His dad is business savvy, and realizes that MLS is going to be the end of his international career.
