Benjamin Mendy telling some guy on Twitter who tried trolling him regarding his support of Sir Alex, simply to "fvck off" was the most excellent response. Nothing more is needed at times, especially in the face of utter stupidity.
Giggs and Jones speak on how they view Sir Alex as a father figure. www.bbc.com/sport/football/44029224
"Please. Be strong. Win this one." If Sir Alex were able to reply right now, I suspect his reply would be to urge the boys to focus on beating Chelsea.

This sounds positive if true - says out of coma and sitting up and talking to family and friends; (a few uk papers with the same message) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sp...rguson-sitting-talking-following-surgery.html
credit to the fans of other clubs especially Arsenal who took the time to say a few words even though they had a huge focus of their own with Arsène Wenger's farewell
Rivalries are all well and good, but at the end of the day we're all humans first. And fandom/tribalism does not transcend that, especially when it comes to life and death situations. It's the same on a different scale with Wenger. To me, Arsenal are our biggest rival and I've never cared for Wenger and in some ways have even enjoyed his downfall. But all the same, now that the man is leaving, my dislike for him is pushed to the side and he gets props out of respect for the great things he's done with Arsenal (in the first 10yrs at least) even if some still hurt to this day (winning the title at Old Trafford in 2002 still top of the list).
Agreed. At the end of the day, football is a game and pales in comparison to someone's life. Most people are rational and compassionate enough to see that. Those that don't aren't true fans, they're just shitty human beings.

Fergie won't go until he's knocked death off its ********ing perch. If anyone can do it, it's him. Hoping he is able to recover at least a bit and live a somewhat normal life after all of this. Please get well Fergie.
Nice story: There's a lovely piece by @henrywinter in the Times today - a tribute to Alex Ferguson which reminded me of a story I'd half-forgotten.— Jeremy Clay (@Ludicrousscenes) May 7, 2018 Click to read the full story
