Bellerin is actually very good, but Wenger forces him to defend too much space and still requires him to basically be the entirety of Arsenal's right flank in attack.
Lahm is still a solid of a player, but the Lahm from 6yrs ago and beyond was up there, way up there among all timers. What he's lost physically though, what's in his head goes some way in making up for it though. At this time though, Bellerin has to be my favorite as well and he probably will get better within the next few years. To be honest, I still lament the fact that Rafa never truly reached his potential. Circa 2011 and 12, the guy was on fire and at the top of his game. Pity that injuries and also Van Gaal, if we're going to keep it real, completely derailed his career
While Lahm's ability to defend one-on-one situations will not be impacted by his age the rest of his game and ability to influence the entire flank will be. We shall see if he adapts as Zanetti did when he went deep into his thirties.
Kimmich looked very, very good in that spot for Germany at the Euros. Have to imagine that Ancelotti will probably want to persist using him there with Bayern.
Rumors are Bayern already offered him a desk job at the FO. With Sammer gone - Sport Director is what is being looked at.
That is one of my favorite aspects of Bayern as a club: they definitely seem willing to keep former players at the club and groom them for top jobs within it. Their structure is clearly one of the best in Europe and it's one I'd love to copy as well.
Not in my book and that is down to the role Jose is giving him unfortunately. No free license to go back as far as up as he can since Martial is infront of him, but Valencia defensively nothing has been able to beat him and he is conquering the whole right flank with Mata tucking in. It's still early days.
The way I would put is that Shaw started off the blocks slowly this season -- completely understandable -- and had improved dramatically with each performance, whereas Valencia started off the season well and has been consistently solid. But not crazy good. We should be very happy with both Shaw and Valencia, but Shaw showed signs against Hull that his peak will be well above Valencia's peak this season.

Perhaps I just need to get rid of this Arsenal friend of mine, who's now on my back that Mourinho didn't buy a right fullback -- in addition the Ibra, Pogba, Bailly and Miki we did buy -- that we allegedly desperately need. I scoff. Is there a single United man here who is unhappy with the job Valencia has done for us so far this season?
