    he's alive but still unconscious.

@ cappuccino_kid you're late on this, Jitevra previously posted this news in both the 2011 K-League season and the 2011 Korea NT Thread.

Hope he gets better soon. Like Kim Eun-Jung's (#18 FW, Jeju United) Champions League ceremony: "일어나라! 영록아!" (Wake up, Young-Rok!)

Honestly, all attention have turned to the match-fixing scandal that Shin Young Rok's progress have been abit difficult to gather.
Never-the-less, he is still in a coma and the usual "his state is getting better despite not waking" statement from the hospital.
Hong Jeong Ho said this in Paju yesterday "(신)영록이형이 쓰러진 뒤 아직까지 일어서지 못하고 있다. 때문에 선수들이 이겨도 웃지를 못한다"
"항상 병상에 누워있는 (신)영록이형을 생각하면서 이기려고 한다. 좋은 결과를 얻고 있는데 아직까지 깨어나지를 못해 안타깝다."
Basically saying Shin Young Rok is still in a coma and the Jeju players are really saddened by that. Winning is just not winning at the moment.

Shit that's not good hopefully he hasn't suffered permanent brain damage but the amount of time he has been in coma its not looking good.

    Hopefully everything turns out ok.

that's what I was mainly concerned about from the start, although i'm a bit relieved to hear that he's awaken, but still concerned the fact that he still can't recognize his family and that he's still not conscious, however I too hope everything turns out ok.

Shin Young Rok has finally awaken after 50 days ㅠ.ㅠ
He said mom and dad ㅠ.ㅠ
Things are looking positive at the moment but we must take little step by step with extreme care ㅠ.ㅠ

He's awake finally! Sad but relieved to hear. Shin should have had a better run in Turkey without the stupid club imploding. I was really hoping that he was going to find form again in K-League when this happened.

He's been awake for a week or so and recognizes everyone and doesn't seem to have any damage besides some loss of fine motor movements although extent of that is unclear. He recognizes everyone and they say his memory part of his brain was safe.

Hope he makes a miraculous full recovery.

Didn't he leave because they failed to pay Shin Young Rok his wage?

Glad that he's awake. I really liked this guy. Is his motor function okay?

That's one way to look at it. But I think it's a blessing that he's managed to live after having that massive of a coronary.

I hope he recovers and successfully takes his next step in a football related career. Perhaps use his experience from his overseas stints to become an agent/manager. Or become a coach or manager. I'm just greatful he has a long life to still live. We all should be... ;)

Damn, I still remembered when Shin played for Bursaspor in the 08-09 seasons. He was great 6 goals in 24 apperances.

Really happy for Shin Young-Rok for waking up and recognizing his friends and family... but I'm sad that this is practically a career-ender for him. :(

I'm glad to see the giant placard all the Jeju fans signed for him during our match against Gwangju is hanging near his bed. 힘네라 록바! 당신은 제주 유나이티드의 영원한 No.10 이다!

But i guess it is a blessing that he made it out a live. I never thought a korean athlete would suffer from a sudden cardiac arrest. These stories are always so tragic to hear.
