er ... you'll wanna check your fixture list, matey. whilst i do believe that wednesday have brizzle city coming up in the FA cup (away) a few weeks ahead, it's brizzle rovers that are at hillsborough this week.

Wonderful Here's a bit of trivia: the last time we scored six in a game was when we beat Burnley 7-2 in the second-to-last game of the 2002/03 season! Just like this game we let in 2, and all our goals were scored by different scorers: Paul McLaren, Ashley Westwood, Richard Wood, Richard Evans, Steve Haslam, Alan Quinn, and an own goal.

If we can't pound teams like Exeter into the ground, we don't deserve to be promoted. 3 points please.
congratulations sheffield wednesday!! the winding up petition (or whatever it's called) has been rescinded by her majesty's revenue and customs (or whatever it's called). SWFC is now officially debt-free and in the clear. spirits haven't been this high around hillsborough in a long time. tip o' the hat to mr milan mandaric. i know he's only in it for the money, but he's surely pulled wednesday's fat from a very hot fire.
hadn't even thought about that. but yer not wrong. i was thinking he might be able to sell them in a year or so, but really he could sell them tomorrow if the money were right. FFS.
well, the thing is that in order for the money to be right, the house will have to be on a sounder(sic) financial footing than the ramshackle hut that he purchased. so even if it turned out to be tomorrow, he'd still be the man who saved the club. i haven't followed this as closely as some, so i don't know how cheaply he bought off wednesday's debt. if he payed only pennies on the pound, he could possibly make money just by returning them to the championship. but i'd presume that his objective is to get wednesday into the premier league and then sell - that's where he'd make a load. ... and if he does that, he'll be a hero to wednesdayites, no matter how much he takes away from it.
he basically paid 8M pounds for all the loans... which was close to 30M if i'm not mistaken. EDIT: that number will go up slightly if we make it back to the premier league.
