In Germany now: Quinnipiac men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa recently caught up with former men's soccer star Shane Recklet. The two spoke of Recklet's tough, yet amazing journey from an unsigned player to an everyday starter for the German Pro club SV Germania 90 Schoneiche. http://www.quinnipiacbobcats.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17500&ATCLID=205142755 He's not on the roster page yet, but he has been playing in matches: http://www.germania90-schoeneiche.d...ction&layout=blog&id=6&Itemid=1&limitstart=18
For anyone else who is not familiar with the club, SV Germania Schöneiche is in the Oberliga Nord, or 5th level of the German league system
Recklet apparently has 1 goal in 13 games this season (1 game left). http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/shane-recklet/profil/spieler_177229.html
The man whose sister is a swan was apparently named his club's captain: Recklet is currently playing in Germany for the German pro club SV Germania 90 Schoneiche of the 5th Bundesliga, and was recently named captain of his team. http://www.quchronicle.com/2012/03/recking-another-land/
Looks like he has moved on for the new season: PLAUEN, Germany – Former Quinnipiac University men's soccer standout Shane Recklet (Shelton, Conn.) has extended his stay over in Germany, as the 24-year old has signed a new contract with VFC Plauen. Recklet enjoyed a season with SV Germania Schöneiche, but announced on Friday, July 6, 2012 that he will represent a new club for the next season. Recklet appeared in 28 matches with Schöneiche last season, developing into a primer figure in the middle of the field. Recklet collected one goal from his defensive midfield role, giving him two career goals in 42 career appearances. Recklet came to terms with a one-year agreement for VFC Plauen, a club in the Regionalliga Nordost (Northern Regional). The 2012-13 season will mark the fourth year that VFC Plauen has competed in the Regionalliga Nordost, the fourth tier of the German Football League system. Also joining VFC Plauen from Schöneiche is newly appointed manager, Dirk Berger, who is fresh off an impressive season just a year ago.
Here he is photographed with what may be his new teammates at Vasas FC in Hungary, one who appears to be Jacob Wilson. http://www.vasasfutballclub.hu/hirek/az_elso_edzes-28
Courtesy prowazekii in the "Jacob Wilson in Germany" thread: "[Wilson] played the 1st half of a recent friendly. The match ended 8-1 with Wilson scoring twice. Recklet played in the 2nd half. http://www.vasassc.hu/news_more?news_id=4039 The match report (Google translated version) also mentions that both Recklet and Wilson have "received a contract". I'm not sure if this means they've been offered deals or if they have officially signed with the club." https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/jacob-wilson-in-germany.1718680/#post-27146152
