Lletget doesn't have to play the same way to be an effective inside-wide mid, which was the style he played especially when he first got to LA..
Damn. Anyone know exactly what his injury is? I watched a couple times on the DVR, looked like he took contact in the high outer left shin just below the knee.
I thought he got injured trying to stay up after scoring. He seemed to stumble. Also the big celebration was unnecessary and might have caused or contributed to the injury. When you continue to play on a slight muscle pull, its gets worse.
You're joking, right? The kid scored his first international goal, in his home area. Not to mention, it was a big game, less than 10 minutes in. It's not like he did an Auba front flip, he just ran to the corner and slid on his knees. Nothing crazy.
He's in a boot and will have a MRI today (he's out for Panama) US Soccer spokesperson says Lletget is indeed in a boot. No word on if he'll travel. #USMNT https://t.co/Ihwl22zjjj— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) March 25, 2017
A BOOT suggests ankle NOT knee. Much better scenario if that is the case. He was struck just blow his knee and I feared the worst
Look at the stumble after the goal. Pressure on ankle. Then stretched out ankles on celebration. The stumble is where it started.
I'm actually a fan of Lletget at CM, but that being said he might have been one of the more expendable parts of our starting 11. He's a great player but are we worse off with Bedoya or Acosta sliding in to the spot? I'm not sure.
No, if you watch the foul again, it occurred when his left foot got caught under the fouling player. You can see it twist outward for a millisecond. It's going to be an ankle injury I promise you. It might have started with the slip after the goal but it was the ankle twist on the foul that is the source of the injury.
To blame him for an injury he suffered because a defender hatcheted him from behind, trying to attribute it to a standard celebration previously, is the product of an agenda and pure asshattery. After that celebration he was dancing around defenders off the dribble and out-ran one to a 50-50 ball even though he's known for not being very fast.
Running fast and getting whacked to the ground has hurt and sometimes ended careers. It was borderline red. That ref and his crew stunk. CP got robbed. Usual physicality going unpunished. I don't think Germany or Spain have to put up with this sh#t.
From this morning: Lletget will be evaluated in Los Angeles, where he plays for the Galaxy. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/lletget-brooks-dropped-us-roster-arriola-added-192136961--sow.html

Sebastian Lletget (foot) out 4-6 months after further tests reveal more significant damage. Unfortunate news for rising #usmnt midfielder.— Doug McIntyre (@ByDougMcIntyre) March 28, 2017
Did she burn it?..... This sucks for him, the team, and us. Just as he was finally about to break through, after that old tyrant left, this happens. It was bad news when reports were he injured the foot instead of ankle. Foot injuries are much more concerning on average short and long-term. Hopefully he returns as the same player, maybe even better if this prompts him to reshape his body to take pressure off his feet. But let it be known, before the injury, in 3 appearances for the national team, each of them were positive. Some wanted to trash him as a player overall and assert he wasn't a-team caliber to make others look better, but early evidence showed he indeed was an a-teamer we had missed out on.
100% an intent to foul/injure by the Honduran player, looking at this angle. He just goes straight into him, doesn't deviate his path at all or attempt to adjust to where the ball is by swinging his foot around. 846770711574315008 is not a valid tweet id The Honduran federation got another one of our promising players, after felling EPB and Glad in the u-20 finals.
