That first sub was way too early and cutesy on Wilmer's part. I'm naturally skeptical of such an early sub in a 0-0 game.

you just knew Bruin would score with hiw poor our passing and control has been

    Ellis has been awful

expect Bruin to unload his mind to the press after the game

Rico with a bad game tonight both ways

I'm not gonna complain with going for the win, but that Elis sub opened the game up a lot for both teams.

opened it up so much that the defensive shape was lost.

    Manotas struggled in his decisions
    Cubo was slow and wasteful
    Wenger not good offensively

Manotas and Wenger provided alot of defensive help

no chance in this game can't blame Cabrera this is on the poor technical play of the players

Too much loss of possession and wasted chances with or without Cubo. No bueno when you have a road game that's winnable!

Elis is fast....but if the ball isn't right to him forget it. He comes in as a sub and the team plays kickball to him. He gets too cute at times. Then that flop on the top of the box.... wtf was that?

Poor poor decision making by attacking players tonight.

Think they mentioned pre-game that it's been 4yrs since we've won on turf? This one and Portland earlier this year really make that statistic suck balls!! Lol

Yes, but if Elis doesn't have a terrible first touch and scores on the first play then its a different story. I agree that the sub could've waited till at least the 70th minute with way the game was flowing.

We had chances to at least get the draw. I'm seeing some improvements from our early season road games, but we gotta finish chances.

easy header for Bruin when he doesn't have to jump

Rico was ball watching and didn't follow him

Fairly certain Elis could have dribbled into the goal instead of that low percentage curl around the keeper try.

Ellis was with Sanchez two v one w the keeper and managed to miss the goal completely

don't blame the defense - we should have gotten a point against a weakened team

Curious what the hell having a forward who could attack has to do with the defense not getting goal side.

Maybe we should have literally not tried to score and gone for a tie.

Maybe. If you're gonna shoot, you gotta make it. He never seemed to be ready for his opportunities he had this game.

Yeah. Elis got into several good spots and had a pitiful first touch all of them.

In his defense the offense other than that was a joke.

Chances lead to momentum and confidence. You could feel the opportunities starting to come and so could the Seattle attackers.

That's correct. That's all I'm saying. The Elis sub was the correct one, I'm just saying it should've happened in the 70th.

I was watching the Seattle feed, but I don't know if Glenn/Eddie talked about how well Alex, Cubo, and Wegner we're playing defensively. Pressuring the ball and tightening the angles. IMO you could've kept 0-0 a bit longer than subbed in Elis to run his ass off for 15-20 mins.

As it happened, we lost some of the defensive bite and stretched out the field too much.

after thinking about Mauros play, I may have been a little hard on him

he did spring Ellis on what should have been the tying goal and worked his ass off all game

Designated Gamechanger with another 0G0A nothing changes once he gets in night.

To win on the road the coach needs to grasp a working gameplan and effective subbing. Cabrera does what he THINKS should work and in practice it doesn't. We don't have the team to bunker for 90 and other than Elis his subs did zip.

Again, it's not Elis' fault that we play a zone and leave people open routinely.

It's Elis fault that his touch and finish sucked.

Did we practice on turf at all? First half they couldn't complete a pass and Elis looked clueless on the surface.

    re: Elis

I think some of yous are confusing being in the general area of the ball because he's fast with actual quality touches. I'm not an Opta guy at all, but it'll be curious to know how many touches Elis actually got.

Anyways, I respect you guys opinion on things if you saw it differently (except Juve). I'm off to Facebook to fight with Dynamo fans that think we shouldn't gotten rid of Will Bruin. Come say hi.
