The sun graphics are straight from one of the very first presentations. There are more in that documentation. I might copy and paste them later.
The ones in the document they sent everyone are more relevant than the ones in the previous documentation which had sun studies at like 10AM and noon instead of times of day when the matches would be happening. But I think they skip July and August
Unless you saw something different earlier, these aren't the same ones. The earlier ones were from above and showed the sun on the field at various times of year. The new ones are specific to the spectators.
Right now the webcams are as a good a view of substantial progress as any other angle. I might post some of my photos from today and yesterday later. We may be seeing a little of the not as grand, grand entrance to the east stand with the highest steel currently erected. This thing is going to pop up quickly since everything is pre-fab steel.
There will be a new field and new locker rooms for the players next year. I'm sure they will appreciate that. It's going to take a lot to make Audi Field a real home for the fans.
FWIW, NBC4 was still showing renderings that had a roof over all of the stands in their coverage of the last game.
All those people watching the grass grow, and not a single player on the field. Pretty much captures reality
If the last game at RFK drew over 40,000 and the seating capacity at Audi Field will be around 20,000, does this prove that 10-lbs of stuff can go into a 5-lb bag?
As a regular season game and not tied to fireworks or other events, I would say that number is probably just one. (When a certain David Beckham first came to play in DC).
A 50K 40K or even a 30K it wouldn’t make sense if only no more than five times in 10 years the stadium had more than 40K at one game. 20K stadium is the sweet spot for DC United even if that piss some people off
IMHO attendance could have averaged 20,000 or more if ownership had bothered to put a good team on the field.
I totally agree with this, still this year what was the average? 16K? That’s a great number! A packed house for at least 1/3 of the games will be great, but yes, I know why they comparing this stadium with the 2 or 3 level stadiums and it sucks, just does.
This is 100% accurate. DC has a very good soccer base, but it's demanding. If the team plays like it did during the days of Christian Gomez and Jaime's last run they will sell out every game. Those teams were not even as good as Bruce's teams so it's attainable. There is no reason DC cannot be a big market club. It just takes some vision and ambition.
One thing I remember about this season was I was considering dropping to a half season ticket plan. However, neither of the half season plans offered the L.A. Galaxy game and you had to buy the full season plan in order to have the ticket included.
