Nope. The FO expects only season tickets in the stands next year...... "Expects" the way the team is and the way the FO doesn't care about the casual or supporter, no way does this happen.
I expected to win $76,000 this morning. I walked away with $4.66 so I guess the United FO can expect the same results.
To someone who grew up with kids with polio and lost a family member to it there is no sarcastic application for the word..I stand my ground
An electric atmosphere? That sure doesn't describe the supporters sections at RFK. It's evolved into boring and annoying. Maybe a hand railing makes it more electrifying to watch the game standing up. Or maybe they anticipate something exciting happening on the field?
Sorry to hear that. My mothers side of the family didn't lose anyone but went through the disease. I'm glad its gone.
It's not. Make sure everyone you know vaccinates their kids. Especially if anyone might travel, say in uniform, to Afghanistan or Pakistan. I'm intrigued by safe-standing sections, but I wonder if "the country's steepest stands" are the right place for such an idea. hmmmm. I don't like sitting (or standing in front of my seat) at high heights and angles (like Verizon 400s) but maybe not having the stupid seat at the back of your knees helps you feel more balanced. I'm not much of a fan of heights (to put it mildly) so maybe the height is worse than the angle for feeling like you might fall if you jumped around too much. Which at a DCU game you should. Anyone have real-world experience with highly sloped "safe standing"?
I'm not going to walk around to another side of the stadium to sit in a different seat to cry for 3 minutes
I hate to agree but the supporters section has become stale over the past few years. We're a long way from what we were just 8-10 years ago...on the field, in the stands and in Lot 8. TS.
I'm not sure if it was out there Saturday, but some activity is much more difficult to see with the wall nearly completed along the west stands. You can see where columns will be installed. This is why I have alluded to the stands popping up quickly once the foundation is in. There is not much structure to much of the project. The amount of concrete used is very limited and can be done relatively quickly. The north stands are coming along as is visible where the west stand foundation is nearly complete (wall and infill included). These photos are from last night. The lighting is very low and my phone/camera made adjustments for that. The stitching is worse than normal as a result. You can see Nats Park lit up in the background. They were playing the Cubs at the time. The structural steel and the fully assembled new crane can be seen in this photo too. Here is the fully assembled new crane on the site. Since the south building foundation has come up, here are a few photos I'm beginning to see more signs of progress before the east structures begin to go up. It appears some of the infrastructure work that was happening along the east areas of the property may be finished. If I'm annoyed enough by the poor quality of this post later, I may post more photos. I probably won't though. I'm lazy like that. That's by design...
I feel the same and I'm the same guy who feels some strange obligation to regularly check on construction progress.
I guess there may be solar panels after all ... https://www.dcunited.com/post/2017/...dc-pace?utm_source=Social&utm_medium=Facebook
I saw this announcement earlier and it has been bothering me all day. I really wish they would update renderings. Some earlier renderings showed room for a handful of panels only on places like the primary gate and not the canopies. Now the press release has it being installed on "the stadium's canopy." There are two canopies. I want to dream of a continuous canopy or four. I don't know how much will be part of the stadium or other phases, but the claims are likely dramatically greater than anticipated before. Using rough math (and I'm probably/likely wrong), that's more than 3,000 panels.
