Why would anyone want to close this thread? I sort of understand why the last one was closed. What I mean is that I can think of reasons why it was closed. Not good reasons, but reasons. More like excuses than justification.

This thread should be allowed to be open. Why would Bigsoccer want to close the thread that gets, what I can surmise, a whole lot of views? You do not bench your star (unless you are RW in the playoffs).

Also, it has since been revealed that his guitar tech caught the guitar in the audience.

Apparently this was a thing Prince would do. He would frequently end shows by throwing his guitar into the crowd and then have his guitar tech stationed in the first few rows to retrieve it. In this instance, Oprah was in the audience and Prince wanted her to have the guitar, so he threw it to his guitar tech with the instructions that he should then give it to her.

I am looking forward to the snow today! Hoping not to leave our property until Tuesday morning.

 

Told my daughter I'd make pulled pork today, so I have to head out shortly to pick up some Boston butt. Other than that, I'm pretty damned set. Bring it on Mother Nature (says the displaced Minnesotan, who always gets a little deranged when it snows)! Can't wait commence with shoveling and to go for a nighttime hike when the temps dip below zero.

Y’all might ask yourself, “Self, who is Bret Adams and why does that name sound familiar?” Im pretty sure you know him as the asshole who would speak to ATX press and such and say what bad partners the city has been to the Crew during the move. But I might be mistaken.

 

Didn’t the team have several events at The Bluestone over the last year or so?

Apparently douchenozzle Brett owns the Bluestone.

I wonder if there was a back door agreement to publicly speak in ways that support the move in exchange for events being held at the venue.

- Sports agent Bret Adams said the Modell law won't save the Crew.

"I think, unfortunately and sadly, that the city and the state know that the lawsuit was a last resort and I believe they realized the team is gone and now it is about saving public face."

It appears the Ginther administration and the Columbus Partnership are more concerned about the public perception of the effort to save the team than the actual effort.

Until Ginther and Fischer understand what Precourt is asking and react with solutions, enjoy the last season at MAPFRE Stadium,” Adams said.

″(Ginther and Fischer) are delusional if they believe that they’re not in a bidding war right now with Austin, Texas,” Adams said.

So yeah, the guy is a piece of shit who, to borrow his phrase, is "delusional" if he thinks anyone should take him seriously. He's just a garden variety publicity hound.

Years ago, when Prince and Michael Jackson were still quite young, someone quipped that the main difference between them was that Michael Jackson didn't have a dick, and would have no idea what to do with all the girls who would be throwing themselves at him, whereas Prince did indeed have a dick and knew exactly what he was going to do with all the girls who threw themselves at him.

 

That IS deranged.

At least this is real snow, and not the usual NE Ohio intermittent slush-fest. That comes AFTER all this, provided the wind turns around the right way.
