Well, due to stupid work I couldn't be on today, and just took an hour reading through about a thousand posts from the past 18 hours. There's a tear in my eyes right now TBH. This seems like the best of everything...we keep the team, new owner, Precourt out, etc. What a day. Time for a growler or two. I love all of you goofy bastards almost as much as I hate all of you.
I would say that's literally the definition of raining on a parade, but that would be wrong. It's figuratively the definition of raining on the parade. You're right, of course, this isn't over... but not tonight, man. Have at the cold hard reality of life tomorrow. Just not tonight.
Thank you so much, and tbh, I started my break from all of this a month or so ago and only periodically have checked in on the thread now. There was just too much going on. But it felt good. Today feels better, obviously. But yeah, what a great time, parenthood.
Either way you'll get Massive rep, you magnificent beacon of factually-based hope and optimism . . . you.
Congratulations gang. Now it is time to go back to rocking my Rapids scarves instead of My Save the Crew. Such a good day.
So we already have Crewsmas. So did 10-12-18 just become Happy New Crew Day? I don't know, but October 12th should officially be a holiday for Columbus Crew supporters #SavedTheCrew
Congratulations. Long time lurker on the other thread. First hundred pages and every single one of the last 700. Going through the need to catch up and enjoying (some of) the tangents. My original goal was to gauge whether I would or could bring myself to a pilgrimage to the MLS Original SSS. I sided with say no to queso, and was pulling for you all. See ya soon!
still in shock that the other thread is closed. literally every official statement is largely saying what has been said before (working toward a resolution to keep the team in Cbus, etc.), except now they're specifying which 'local owners' they're trying to do business with and getting positive about the deal getting done. I mean, that's acknowledgement of massive progress... BUT CLOSING THE GREAT THREAD ALREADY? To rephrase your question, does new ownership get the Mapfre lease, or do they become a sublessee of PSV, who leases the land from the county? new ownership should just directly get the lease by acquisition of 'Crew Stadium LLC,' or whatever the name is of the entity that holds the lease. No PSV middle man. It would be kind of unnatural to discuss a sale otherwise.
Well not saves so much as immediately reborn Quakes style but better. But beggars can’t be choosers . Congrats to Columbus on Crew 2.0! Hope Precourt fails miserably in Austin with the burned out husk of Crew 1.0
I always figured I would post this song upon this glorious occasion: And now I've done it. Thanks for the memories.
My girlfriend and I drove from LA to Napa today for a couples trip. I insisted on wear big my new Homage ‘Glory to Columbus’ shirt, and li and behold, we arrive to find out the Crew have been saved!!! #AAA #savedthecrew
I apologize for being thick, @GoCrew1996, especially since you answered it twice up-thread but I keep seeing it mentioned elsewhere so I'll just ask again: Is the Pete Edwards, Jr. leading the local investor group different from the team physician by the same name?
