I agree they need to be aggressively marketing to drive tickets. However, I think they may have just today started reaching out to people from the StC list and doing proactive calling. I actually am not even sure of that, I just know some people got emails. So it's entirely possible we are still in the first wave of lead gen/sales fulfillment. You are right though as soon as that slows they need to hit the streets hard to drive sales. I would love to break the STM record this season or even just crush anything done under PSV. Also, tell your friend it would get them top priority, as it always has in the past whenever a new stadium opened anywhere not just Columbus. They may have not officially said that yet but I cannot imagine it being otherwise.
As a Clevelander, I would not be opposed to a Crew game in Cleveland, but I think an exhibition against a big European team would be the best idea for such a game.
I told him that my renewal email had that listed as a perk and it's always been the case in my experience. He was hesitant because his favorite NFL team opened a new stadium a few years ago. All his friends who were 20+ year STHs assumed they'd get priority, but instead they had to reapply and go in to the same queue as new applicants. Fairly sure he'll be buying Crew tickets though now that I told him it's a listed benefit.
I'll follow up with him about it. He's pretty good about promoting or at least discussing the local teams on social media. I would assume he'll plug the Crew regardless.
I am someone who pledged to buy tickets and I got my first phone call and email asking me to buy. I responded to the email (while in a meeting) about buying and haven’t heard back yet. Assuming I may not till Monday as you lazy ass Eastern Standard time people are done “working”. They are certainly using the list which is great.
