Out of all the recent posts, that was also the same one that made me stop and think. If he could smash it, arm severed. But how was he able to smash it at all? His punch should have just went right through again back to the other side.* *Based on my extensive research with magic mirror portals.
I have Sling. The version without ESPN. I do not miss it. Once in a while there is something big, but I can catch those via ESPN App on replay for free.
ESPN programming is little more than a series of informercials promoting their NFL, NBA, and College Football broadcasts. Real sports reporting died there when 1. ESPN started sitting on stories because they would embarrass their sports "partners" and 2. they decided to hire a bunch of buffoons who feel the need to shout to get their point across rather than make an actual rational argument.
Definitely scary. Too many eyes, limbs, many with a positively frightening, gruesome method of capturing and devouring prey (to be fair, we should be viewed the same by other earth creatures). I think the fear emanates from just how different they are from humans and the animals we instinctively like. If we ever encounter aliens, I think it'll be a bit terrifying in an HP Lovecraft way.
BigSoccer is kind of like the lyrics to your favorite song. You might take it to mean something that the original artist did not. After you find out the real meaning, it may actually take away from the joy it once brought to you. Many bands recognize this, and never fully share the real meaning of their lyrics. They leave it up to interpretation unless it is for something very, very specific. So for some people, culture from BigSoccer may refer to bacteria or the arts. To that, I say, "correct".
I guess I'm out of the loop on why Caleb Porter is the devil or whatever. So, I guess I think it's fine. The big thing was saving the team. This whole takeover feels like the Crew reaching the Big Time. With that, I think these coaching hires are going to start being a lot more NFL/NBA/NHL like in that the coach is entirely expendable. If Porter is this terrible, they'll fire him in two years and hire somebody else. At least it won't be happening in Austin.
If someone has touched on this, please let me know and I'll take this down, but: The NCA is managed or overseen by a committee made up of six people appointed by the developer, six so-called citizens representing the community, nearby businesspeople and other stakeholders and one person appointed by the city government. This more or less insures that any monies are used for purposes benefiting the larger area around the stadium, rather than as those liars on the radio were claiming, just " throwing it at the stadium" or going straight into the owners pocket.
To prevent a HS from attaining "powerhouse" status by simply training/playing year round under the guise of a "club" team. While this may not be detrimental to those players that seek the added training, the fear was that said training would become in effect "mandatory". Basically the worry was that coaches would pressure their athletes into playing year round instead of having the option of other sports and/or maybe focus on their studies. Also, for hang (and maybe several others):
I'd rather let everyone make their own decision about how much they want to value and participate in sports. To force some to not train extra (or to train extra "illegally") so that others can be more comfortable and successful in doing less, doesn't seem like the best choice to me.
Eh, what's so great about their guy? Porter is familiar with the oddities of MLS and has won the top trophy in the league (as well as other things). Methinks the hang doth protest too much.
Ha, guess I figured it would be hard for you to sleep for the next several days. True ... but participation trophies!
I'm pretty happy about the new coach. He has a proven record in MLS and everywhere else he's coached.
I know Tim and like him. Is Toronto really the model we want to follow? His budget there was essentially unlimited and it still took time to build a winner and their window closed immediately.
