TBH, that was the first thing that popped into my head. Gotta love running around killing Nazis. I tried to use that as a reason for my mom as to why it should be okay to play. She disagreed.
I played both quite a bit but I definitely remember playing the "Shareware" (who remembers those?) version of Doom to death. Never got the full version though...
Realmz. Good grief, we were kids. You needed credit cards to purchase the "full version." But we dreamed of a day. So silly.
No love for 300 Way Cool Games for Windows? Too bad about 270 of them weren't exactly "way cool". I did play the shit out of Ski Free. Damn you abomitable snowman!
Or having to save the instruction manual (do games even have those anymore?) so you can get past the challenge questions that pop up randomly in the game so you can verify your copy was legit and not a bootleg.
Maybe it was a different disc, but I'm fairly sure I had Ski Free before I got a CD-ROM. In more recent memory, I remember hearing about how to beat that snowman... Anyhoo, that Dino Slots game. Remember that one? Also, that game that put you back in medieval times where you had to collect treasure and hunt goblins and dragons and whatnot?
