The very first U-19 SAFF Championship is set to be hosted by Nepal this August from the 20th to the 29th, with youth squads from eight SAFF countries (India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives) expected to take part. http://www.footballpakistan.com/201...ted-by-nepal-in-august-pakistan-to-take-part/
I don't understand CAFF, they don't appear to want to do anything. The only reason they exist is because of Iran. I think Afghanistan, while no longer a member of SAFF, can benefit from these regular invitations to play in their various competitions.
Well, to be honest, with Afghanistan mentioned in the article, it wouldn't actually surprise me if the reporter hasn't realised that they have moved to CAFF. If SAFF have invited them, it's a bit like a boy who has been dumped by the girl and just won't move on. And for Afghanistan, if they want to be in CAFF, then stay away from SAFF, yes it's competition for the youth, but it's no good jumping between both camps.
