    From realmadrid.com:

We've been waiting so long for him to recover from his injuries and it's been so long since he's played a full game it's been easy to forget about him. He was so special in his first year here with us, the 2006-2007 season in which we won the title with the fabulous 12 Games/12 Finals dramatic season ending.

Goodbye Ruud, may you continue to make horseheads proud in the wonderful city of Hamburg. :)

Ruud official to Hamburg. In his first interview he stated that also VdV has praised Hamburg as a great city and great club.

He is going to have a huge welcome, that's for sure.

Never put a foot wrong on (or off) the pitch for us.
An absolute monster in front of goal.
Sadly injury decimated his time here.

He leaves with his head held high and with the thanks and appreciation of all madridistas.

    Thanks Ruud.

    "My dear club and Madridistas,

We will never forget our time here. You all made us feel right at home from the very first day. Madrid will always be in our hearts, also because our children were born here.

You were always there for us, helping us, and that's why we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We've enjoyed every single minute we've spent here and every single day. That's why we wish you all the best.

    ¡Hala Madrid!
    Ruud van Nistelrooy and family”

Wish he could of left it a better way, you know, at least seen him more than twice this season. Shame he got injured to, he is one of those players who does not rely on speed to age does not effect him as much. Pretty certain an healthy Ruud will get 20+ goals a season quite easilly for us.

So that leaves VdV and Drenthe, they really must feel like the walls are closing in on them. Don't take this too seriously, but this is like blatant racism from Perez. It is an open secret that he wanted to get rid of all the Dutch players from Madrid and it 6 months he has rid the club of 4/6 of them.

OK so now I have to edit this post, which was a quote of what I said in the other thread.
Only now Horsey has put the other thread in this thread.
So I was repeating what I said half a dozen posts earlier.

So now I have a post with nothing more to say.:mad

    Anyway Ruud= Class

Now move on, nothing to see here.

    What!!

how is this, ruud was 33/34 and hardly played this season from end of last

it is sad to see a legend go but from a football persective, it had to be. he was on around £100,000 a week

this by no means, mean that drenthe and vdv will be going anytime soon.

    Good Bye Ruud

it's so sad to see Injuries makes you not the main option for almost 2 years

i wish things would have gone smooth and probably you would still be our leading goal scorer over these 1 1/2 years

    anyway, good luck with Germany

    and speaking of which

arent' we now so insufficient of strikers?

we have only 3 active striker now, of which, 1 of them is Raul who isn't getting the start anymore

which means, we have EXACTLY only 2 active striker. aren't the board alerted yet by this?

Ronaldo has been playing for a striker ever since he came back from injury. There's one slot right there. That leaves Higuain, Benzema and Raul for one spot right now. I think that's plenty.

We have four strikers. Higuain will be back soon enough and Ronaldo plays there as well. Pellegrini said he was satisfied with four strikers at his disposal.

We owe Ruud a lot for his time here. I was against his signing, but he proved his worth. A great striker and a great professional.
