He did get a bit of love: Angulo y Rubio Rubin se vieron bien, también.— Ernesto Barraza (@LuisE189) March 11, 2018 But most reactions I came across were not fawning. 972692367789711360 is not a valid tweet id
He didn't see much of the ball and had NO service. When he had the ball he dribbled past a defender and made a nice pass to a player out wide. This Xolos team is sh*t, that's why they got beat 0-2 at home.
Rubio gets the start against NYRB tonight. He’s the only one on that side I’ll be half happy netting one.

Excellent ball control from Rubin and quick decision making leads to a huge assist for the first goal of the match. Xolos is putting the pressure on.
The first touch with the chest was really nice. Did it on the run and with his body turning and cushioned the ball perfectly to hit a sweet cross.
He's getting consistent PT at club level right now at a higher level than he's been playing at in a few years. I'd rather Sarachan didn't call him up. Give him more time at club level, let him establish himself. Same logic applies to anyone who's in a fringe situation at their club. We're not in a rush to integrate any player. I also don't think he's good enough. He made one good play in ~100 minutes against the Red Bulls. I've seen Harry Shipp drop a hat-trick on this team, but I'm not clamoring for him to be a part of the national program either.
I have not seen RR much since his Utrecht days, but he was good enough at that point to imagine him contributing something. I'm going to try to catch some games - maybe even sneak a trip abroad next time I have biz in SD. But if he can get back to Utrecht pre-injury form, he is not that far off the pack. He has the Dempsey problem (though in no way the same player) Instinctually an AM but has enough bite that coaches want him to be a striker. Built more like a striker, but doesn't seem efficient enough in front - or wasn't a few years ago anyway. Glad he's playing.
To me this seem like one of the more less talented Xolos squads that I've seen going a few years back. Thus, Rubin should be able to pick up starters minutes if he keep his form up.
He played all over the midfield/wing in a 4-3-3 and 4-2-2. LM, RM, FW, RW, LW, AM. But my guess if you added all apps up he'd have most, by about 2-1 or more, at FW there. But he was sometimes in contention for the RM and CM/AM spot and many fans (and I'm going to guess RR himself) thought that CM was his best position.

Excellent!!! Must feel great for Rubio who’s gone through a tough time early in his career finding his footing at a good level in Liga MX. Rooting for the kid, can help out the US in any of the attacking positions. More dangerous than Arriola for example
Agree on your agreement. I don’t think Rubin is some sort of answer long term, but he does provide decent depth which will come in handy next summer. Rubin and Pulisic on opposite wings would be interesting to see
