Here we go, game two in four days, another against an important Western Conference competitor. Any points taken here are both unexpected and a big bonus. Here's hoping we look good at the very least, maintaining form down the stretch.
I think we will end up with 53 points, I do not see us getting any points from this match. Hope I am wrong.
53 would be easily in...and that's the average expected outcome honestly. In the most basic simulation, RSL is averaging 2.27 points per home game and 0.86 points per road game. That means we should earn 7.15 points...throw that on 46 and you end up with 53 and a little margarine on the side.
Bofo not in the 18, having played instead for the Monarchs last night. Martinez played too (and scored four) as did Luke, Holt, Putna, and - at outside back - Tate Schmitt. Today in Minnesota: Rimando Herrera Glad Onuoha Toia Beckerman Luiz Savarino Kreilach Rusnak Sam Bench: Ochoa, Silva, Lennon, Rowe, Arriaga, Plata, Baird
That's a sneaky goal from Albert to the near post. Good attack from Herrera and Savarino to set up the rebound.
(Might be my fault on the Minnesota goal as I went to get the laundry out of the dryer and upset the soccer feng shui.}
Pretty even match up. Loons are getting the best of our outside backs and hurting us on breakaways. We are doing well holding the ball and finding the holes in their defense. I'd have thought that they would run at Toia more often, but they are bringing it to Herrara more often. That could also be because Herrara gets forward more often.
Toia with some disastrous touches, playing Minn on side with a touch on goal 1 and then running into his teammates - not good.
This really isn't a game for Sam. This sort of thing is why I wouldn't be surprised to see us start fresh looking for a forward this offseason.
Heath with some good tactical changes this half. They are swarming us, keeping us at a knife's edge of a costly error. Hopefully, that opens them up too.
Molino has gotten in a lot of dangerous spots, but good thing he can't get a shot on frame. EDIT: I'm prescient!
