Back home again, against a team not just leading the East but with a winning record on the road at 4-3-3. I have enjoyed watching them this year; they have an interesting combo of strength and skill, and have been more successful at blending youth and experience than we have.
I stopped short on that one - didn't mean to only write about the Union. I do like how we've played in the few games since we apparently stopped focusing so much on preparing for the other team in order to set ourselves up better to play our own game. Here's to something panning out this weekend (we have a pretty tough slate in the coming home games).
I'm super-impressed at how Tim Curtain has stayed in his role and not lost ambition and focus. It looks like Philly has finally figured out how to be a competitive team on limited resources. Kudos to them. They had great initial support from some super-crazy fans. I hope this gets them back into the spirit of things. Also, Hopefully @SoccerPrime gets the bug back. I miss the guy.
That's Tim Curry. One of the best actors of all time! Worst Witch. Clue. It. Legend. And of course, Rocky Horror. The guy steals the screen whenever he's on it!
Also The Hunt for Red October, Muppet Treasure Island and the voice for Nigel Thornberry in the cartoon The Wild Thornberrys. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Curry_performances
I am going to catch the highlights of this one. Today is the first annual Harvest Cup here in Pullman (replacing the late, great Palouse Cup that had been held in August previously), and old man Ismitje is playing a whopping four games today. There are a few grizzled veterans out there on various teams, and we're pining for an Over 40 division in future iterations (we'd prefer Over 50, but acknowledge it'll be a tough go to make enough teams around here at that level). Our last game of the day is at 7:30 PDT and I won't be able to stay awake to watch a recorded game after that.
Pretty interested to see how they match up against top talent. Not expecting much though, but our home record is pretty good, so maybe we can pull out an upset.
No Sam Johnson due to quad injury. This makes the Union challenge tougher. Does anyone know how long he is expected to be out?
Beautiful chance. Volley by Kreilach not far enough away from Blake. And now a pretty similar goal from last week by Sava7.
Coulda been red on Kreilach there. VAR involved. Might still be. We luck out. Very easily could have been red.
Yes. Most definitely. On the other hand Petrescu has allowed several yellow worthy Union fouls without showing a card.
A positive post! I've been impressed how RSL have kept the heat on this one. They've had much better chances overall. Only real downside to tonight is all the hard tackles, especially by our guys. I think Philly is really sitting back and hoping to counter. And there's the stat: essentially 60/40 possession for RSL. We're usually on the other side of that stat.
