Almost 7-0. Looked level to me.

 

You figure the referee will give us a red fairly early to try and even it out somewhat.

 

Well, holy crap that was fun. And nothing better than seeing it happening in Denver. I don’t blame the crowd leaving early. It’s sad just how bad Colorado is right now. I mean, we suck on the road... and we got this result.

 

So, no fooling, after Jackson was sent off, I jokingly said to my wife, "I want another goal, and then another Colorado player sent off." Then, it happened... after the third goal I said, "I guess Colorado will have another player sent off." No such luck.

 

Well, I was way off. RSL really coming through the last few games and getting unexpected points.

This season had EMBRATSU written all over it but who knows they just might make the playoffs yet.

Knock on wood.

Looking at the number of games played and number in hand for other teams around RSL it looks like will come down to LA or RSL in the last spot for the playoffs.

Next week is HUGE!

 

Don’t get to excited, this was just the Rapods after all. I would say they lost more than we won.

 

Man, wish that 7th had stood, we'd be down to a -1 GD after this one. 21 shots, 13 on goal, 6 goals....that's some insane efficiency.

The 3rd goal, the the beautiful one by Savarino, should be up for MLS goal of the week. It was pretty sweet.

 

I actually thought Rusnak's was the best of the 6.

 

LOL. The Rapids manager went to the “We’ll remember this next year” diversion in the post-game press conference.

 

It was a nice goal, but it came against a defense that could barely move.

 

No comments from me (thought @Lizzie Bee that was uncalled for and you know it) but just a note that its going to take a while for me to want to update the RMC stats, then when I get around to doing it its going to take a while to cover all the goals, assists, and cards in this one. In short, don't look for a stats update for at least a couple of days.

I feel for Colorado fans, that's a mess. I understand that one must adhere to the rules to protect players from head butting conduct - even so to me the first red was iffy. But the second was VERY dirty so I didn't feel so bad. Shades of last year's war on our RB. Three points are big, but it's hard to read much about form.

Okay, I apologize. You've always been top notch. The others sometimes get under my skin with the accusations that we're not good stewards of the trophy.

Good point. They ought to just retire it and let RSL keep it. The National High School Rodeo did that with the National trophy. Utah kept winning it so they retired it and gave it to us. It’s in the lobby of the Utah Department Of Agriculture and Food.

 

In an interesting development Rapids, Sounders and Martinez are in a pretty tight race for Golden Boot.

 

Nice to finally be on the winning side of one of these scorelines.

 

You might be surprised, then, to know that my admin privileges for the RMC FB page were revoked last night, and I suspect it has something to do with my comments here in this thread. Not as friendly as it used to be. I thought that a little half-hearted name-calling was appropriate in a rivalry, but it appears I was wrong.

 

But would KC or LA feel like RSL is that big of a deal? No matter if we care about our games against them, if they don't reciprocate, then it isn't really a rivalry. I think KC is as close as we have right now, but they are much better than we are right now too, so.....

I would concur that right now the rivalry is more friendly than it has been in the past, especially since we both suck.
