Actually met Jeff Rueter last night. (He bought some GS cookies from my daughter ) Very nice. Anyway, was able to have a brief conversation with him about some Loons stuff. Last night he was still was thinking it was 50/50 on getting Quintero. If he did come, yes, he would be slotted right into the Molino/AM role. Fernando arrived yesterday. He didn’t think he would be playing this weekend, but was optimistic about him.
Quintero is 30, so I suspect they see him only as an immediate slot-in for Molino given his season-ending injury. Still following Benedetti. He assisted on a goal in Deportivo Cali's 2-1 win over the league leaders Once Caldas. That gives him 2 goals and 2 assists in 8 matches during the Apertura. Considering how well Rossi (20 yo) and Almiron (23 yo last season) have done for LAFC and Atlanta, respectively, I would still like to see Minnesota United consider getting Benedetti.
Darwin’s time at América coming to an end as #MNUFC in advanced talks for “El Científico del Gol” (how’s *that* for a nickname @collinsolberg ?) https://t.co/tnbdT0udar— YLIKUITTASJÄRVI (@MNorthStar82) March 19, 2018

América espera resolver mañana la salida de Darwin Quintero a la @MLS probablemente al @MNUFC— Billy Escobar 🏹 (@BillyEscobar7) March 21, 2018 Looks likely that this going to happen.
Do we not have to free up an international spot first? I see another Green Card announcement coming...
The team said Jerry, Sam and Abu were in the process, and then days later announced that Rasmus has his. So who knows?
#MLS sources indicating to me that Darwin Quintero set to be announced by #MNUFC as soon as this week. Sides have agreed to terms; ITC final step.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) March 25, 2018
If the roster listed on MLS Soccer.com is accurate, Francisco Calvo has a green card... International slots 1 Boxall, Michael 2 Fernando, Luiz 3 Nicholson, Sam 4 Owundi, Bertrand 5 Pangop, Frantz 6 Thiesson, Jerome 7 8
Yep. #MNUFC announces Francisco Calvo and Abu Danladi have acquired green cards, which frees up two international spots on #MLS roster. Scottish winger Sam Nicholson has been working on his green card, too.— Andy Greder (@andygreder) March 26, 2018

For those of us who don't speak Spanish: Change of scenery! After months of uncertainty, Darwin Quintero will leave America to play in the MLS, his team is Minnesota United. His departure from Coapa is consumed after 3 years in the club, played 146 matches, scored 26 goals and got 2 titles what do you think?
And then this AMÉRICADarwin se va el viernes a Minnesota. Firmaría por tres años.— Rubén Rodríguez 👤 (@ruubenrod) March 26, 2018 Three year deal.
Somehow, the Galaxy managed to make Zlatan a non-DP signing, so...you never know. Finally having a DP would shut a few people up in certain quarters, though.
Zlatan...was exactly what I was thinking as well. Other news....talks with Alexi Gómez supposedly broke down. So, probably on to the next person.
I reversed jinxed it? ¡ULTIMO MINUTO! Alexis Gómez a un paso de irse a la MLS. En las próximas horas firmaría y jugaría por el Minessota. ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/27cwjjhSXi— El Desmarque ⚽️🎙 (@eldesmarqueperu) March 27, 2018 (translate) LAST MINUTE! Alexis Gomez one step away from going to MLS. In the next few hours I would sign and play for the Minnesota.
