Read it and completely agree with Tweeds. I have said it on Twitter, but IMO, currently AC is our best defender.
Based on his form while at BMG and his form currently, I absolutely believe this. He reads the game better than Luiz does and I'd argue better than Dave.
i think we can at least agree he has the potential to be a starter for the next decade and as such could possibly be the JT heir apparent. if he had been on the open market he would have gone for stones money easy. i'm just excited to have an academy player in the team, and i know he came later, but he was still groomed at the club. the BMG experience is priceless now.
AC has the possibility of becoming a great player but still has a lot to learn. Specifically timing/positioning air balls.
So the obvious name here is Ancelotti. Have to think it's an option and he's a ready made replacement. Another name is Pirlo. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Guess a lot of blame for this window was put on him, which is true. Mixed feelings as he did well idenfying potential talent. Immediate first team, not so much.
Not sure. I have nothing outside of names linked recently to our coaching role or someone within the staff.
Also, for the record, according to Chelsea reporters, Conte and Emanelo had a decent relationship so this isn't a case of good news for Conte. Not sure about this. I wasn't a fan of Emanelo. He did okay, responsible for Kante, Hazard, KDeB, Courtois, and others like Mata, Lukaku etc. He also was responsible for Papy and Marko Marin. Stay tuned
Emenalo did extremely well for us and was (wrongly) used as a scapegoat for basically every problem we had.
This is one extreme. The other extreme is he was responsible for everything. The truth is likely in the middle.
For every Hazard and Azpilicueta, we had a Papy and Marko Marin. I imagine if De Bryune and Lukaku worked out here Emenalo's track record would be highly regarded. That said, it's mixed but Hazard alone makes up for it.
Yes, but it's not like Hazard was a hidden treasure we unearthed. He was highly sought after and we just won the CL. If we hadn't, he'd be somewhere else. Every club has more misses than hits. It's impossible not to given the amount of players cycling through an academy or a transfer window. What would be more interesting to know is who OK'd the strategy to not reinforce en masse following Jose's 2nd title and Conte's title. We could have taken this league by the neck but instead we're making it difficult on ourselves. Hazard is already 27 and isn't getting any better. We're going to need a lot of reinforcements sooner rather than later.
Really tough to know how to react as I honestly don't know the extent of his role at the club and what responsibilities or even powers he had. Do I blame him or praise him? No real idea. However, during his tenure we had a lot of success and whether this was because of him in part or whether we could have had even more with a different TD, impossible to say. So I will simply say good luck to him and even better luck to whomever takes the role.
This is a fair take and one I agree with. No idea to what extent he had. Thanks and good luck. Excited for who will be next. Concerned what it means right now. Seeing mixed opinions on Twitter.
