This owner has a classic case of spatial disorientation. He thinks he is flying level, straight and forward. In actuality he is heading for the ground. Everyone in the ground can see he is aboutto crash, but he is blissfully unawares. I wish him luck
There are a couple owners who seem to think you can play in certain years when the conditions are optimal and sit out other years.
It's Tuesday... any word? Or is this just going to go on forever or until the league just lets them play in a parking lot?
Again...how quickly would someone post word here if there were word? People are not holding back info hoping someone asks.
Some team owners from the recent past think it is OK to pay most of the players less than $100 a game but then drive luxury cars themselves. I have read recently that the MASL has 'tightened financial requirements' (whatever that means), and if true, that is progress. But the lack of financial accountability for the owners, lack of proper vetting of owners by leagues, and the lack of willingness by leagues and owners to guarantee a decent minor league salary and benefits for players has held the sport back from stability and growth for a long time. Of course, if more fans were buying tickets, these goals would be more possible.
Definitely true. I feel a lot like Estragon and Vladimir from the play Waiting for Godot. It is a farce that the league has waited this late for any team to get their stuff together. I hardly see the point of paying attention. Playwright Samuel Beckett's absurdist play is a fitting metaphor for the sport at this point. Waiting for any real improvement with professional indoor soccer is as nuts as these guys were waiting endlessly under the tree in the play. http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/godot/summary.html
As of this morning at 10 am my source said they have not heard from the City or BCA arena so I dont know what the MASL will do , How much longer can the MASL wait ?
