I admit I get a little over myself but to say that we should use another striker and allow Silva to grow into that spot would be crazyi can say that if Porto have an expiernced striker they would be topping the league and the CL group they are in. I admit that silva is young and will be a beast but he imho isn't clinical enough and stats lie all those goals he scored for Porto have been absolute tap ins or pens. Why not use Diogo Jota or even Ricardo Horta would be a try
I'm not a Andre Silva fanboy by any means and have complained about his missed chances but he is our prospect now and we need to stick with him until he gives us reasons not to. He is young and can score goals. This is unheard of in our NT. Yeah if Porto did have another Striker we would be doing better but that isn't to say we would bench Andre. He would still play, but Porto is expecting a kid to carry the team and that seldom works Hugo is part of the old guard even though he isn't that old but he doesn't have a spot on the team.
I've never been a Quaresma fan before but holy cow does he seem to have matured. His crossing is just magnificent. Our tall guys just feasting on those pin-point accurate crosses. He was like this at the Euros too - and super disciplined too. It took him 10 years to finally calm down but now he's like a vintage wine = $$.
Andre Silva is a stud. He's already showing more promise than any other striker we've had. His touch and flair is second to none. He's gonna be a beast.
@CDPontaDelgada you, my friend, need to stop watching the sport if you're thinking the way you post. Andre Silva was excellent in terms of linking up play (playing the header to Gelson who chested it down and miskicked, flick on to Quaresma for RQ to put in a beauty of a cross to score, etc.). Once or twice if the ball was played back to him he may have had a goal. Hugo Almeida? Come on, man.
I saw the game and he did well as he is a strong lad but he isn't clinical enough Faroe Islands and Andorra are minnows. I agree his link up play is top notch for a kid and his finishing for a younger player is class but he really shouldn't start big games. I don't mind him starting against the nations he has played thus far. I like the space he opens up for Ronaldo though something Almeida was not good at as silva is a better dribbler For Porto against good teams he has struggled Say what you will I hope he makes me look like an asss but sometimes watching him I cringe Benfica start Jose Gomes soon!
Cedric and Fontes starting against Liverpool. Good game and Cedric very lively Hope Cedric moves to another club he is too good for them

Portugal-Hungria (5th game) at Estádio da Luz, 25th March, 19:45. http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=642574
I missed the first have as the time I had for the start was CET (Central European Time) which is one hour ahead of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) which only Portugal/Britain and Ireland have (Spain is set to join). Then the link was not the best (on/off) in the second half. Have been really unlucky with Monaco games lately for various reasons, but it is good to hear and will see the highlights
Yup just bossed the game as usual, yet can't even get a sniff off of the bench for Portugal. It's an absolute joke. IMO he should be one of the first names put down on the team sheet for Portugal.
On the programe Prolongamento da RTP Madeira commentator Victor Martins says that there is a possibility of Maritimo's new stadium staging Portugal /Ilhas Faroe
FPF must surely organise a seleção game in Madeira while Ronaldo is still playing, there can't be any excuses that can't be overcome. Set it up!
I strongly believe that this club has strong aspirations to take a crack at the top five as long as they can cultivate a good youth program and scouting that work the future looks bright for this club
