I've got a ripping headache from being dehydrated & I should be in bed since I'm expected to work in the morning, but this thread has to be started. There's a disturbing new element in the River End, they wear all black & have shirts that say "Apex Security". Kyle (SOB Fleetwood) was kicked out of 137 tonight for dropping f-bombs by an agent of Apex named Brian (# on his shirt is 55063). I don't have the brain capacity right now to describe everything he said & did, but here's a couple of pics. One of him standing at attention just waiting to bust the skull of another punk & one of him harassing Lorax & Laudy. I felt like I was at the Linc tonight.....
they booted a few out of our section too. I wasnt there tonight so i dont know the story but i got a call saying that security was all around 134. crazy
There were several 'APEX' security guards in 134 during the second half. I don't know if it was a direct result of the little scuffle between our fans and Crew fans between halves or if the Crew fans went to complain to security. Things were definitely much tighter security-wise this game than I have seen before. I saw a guy who was told to stop chanting at a Crew fan by security because he was "making personal attacks" or something of that manner when he started a chant about lack of jobs in Ohio. Seemed pretty strict.
I noticed Apex guards at the highland avenue parking location wearing orange vests that said "police" on them (could see through it and they were wearing apex shirts) is that even legal???
ok i got one story. someone was smoking at half and got pulled out by his neck. Little much dont ya think
I heard some rumbling about these incidents during halftime. I hope this isn't going to become the norm. As to the problem with swearing, did someone in 137 complain about the language, or did Mr. Apex take it upon himself to correct such a terrible ill? I find it hard to believe that anyone in 137 would have a problem with language. But I guess stranger things have happened.
I missed the match due to a death in the family, but was the ramped up security due to it being an ESPN2 Game of the Week? Or maybe the reputation of CREW Supporters... They've had massive fights with Toronto and even a pretty crazy bit of fighting with WEST HAM Fans during a Friendly. Sounds like I missed alot...
Sccaflagger74 and I were hanging in the lot after the match, and the Crew supporters were walking back to their gathering place. We were thanking them for coming and they were pretty cool. Guess these were the relatively well-behaved ones. I didn't notice the black shirts but I was swearing even more than normal. But I was doing it at the same time as everyone else.
People were certainly amped up last night, more than usual. I've been fairly reserved when it comes to swearing and stuff this season, but between the Ref and the Crew coming off at halftime I think I probably made up for the rest of the matches. There was definitely something different in the atmosphere last night. ETA - Just saw that APEX is listed as a provider for Lincoln Financial Field. I wonder if they were helping out for the night, or if they are going to become permanent staff?
The CSC folks staff all the events in the Philly stadia, so it would make sense about Apex as well. If we were scuffling with the Crew crew, then they'll have to bring out the riot squad for New York. It might get ugly.
I got warned/scolded for my language post game for yelling at Lenhart as he went up the tunnel. After being reduced the past few games I noticed security was back in our row above the tunnel during every player entrance/exit from the pitch.
This is absolute crap. I could understand if they were entering/exiting in a different section. But it is in the River End. We just got done 90 minutes worth of singing songs that included the most colorful of language/phrases one can imagine. Why not toss all of us? Stuff like this irritates the hell out of me. Security has been very friendly, why the sudden change? And these APEX guys sound like the type who only took the job so they could live out some sort of God complex.
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...new-mls-team-philadelphia-union-95973714.html Looks like Apex has actually been around since June 9th, and this is a crack down on the supporter's section. The Supporter's Code on the Union website does say "Fans enjoy the soccer experience free from fighting, *thrown objects, attempts to enter the playing field, political or inciting messages, and disorderly behavior, including foul, sexist, racial, obscene or abusive language or gestures." But, it seems utterly ridiculous that people were removed for cursing. Obviously, the entirety of the SS should be removed (between YSA, which is picked up by quite a few people in the rest of the stadium) and our rendition of Yankee Doodle. I mean, Christ. With Kyle being in the back row, who can hear him other than the rest of the SS? Did somebody complain that he was mucking about with their good time? If so, I'll take that person's seat. I'd love to be at the back of 137. I've never watched a sporting event, on TV with friends or family, at a Reading Phillies game when I was 8, at a college game, in the non-SS at the Dallas game, or in the band section back in high school and NOT heard cursing. If anybody can provide more exact details about what happened, I'd REALLY love to hear it.
They escorted a whole lot of them from the stadium to the parking area. My wife and I were walking in front of the gaggle, and APEX dudes were just being d1cks to them. I'm attributing most of the problems to the security handling situations poorly. We overheard the security guys telling their supports to shut up and hurry. Needless to say as we walk towards the tailgate area, and they continued on, I wasn't surprised to hear them getting more and more amped up.
there was an apex guy down at field level that harassed ventur pregame. there was a pic that had a c-bus guy standing in front of a field side ad that said "assback". security made him hand it over.
I still feel sorry for getting that taken away, it was so close to being on camera. I was trying to get his attention all night to ask why it was taken, he never saw it.
Interesting how this doesn't seem to apply to away support. They were out of control before the game. One of our guys in 133 got pulled down for a "chat" with security. I yelled over the railing asking why the same rules aren't applied to the away support and the security guy looked straight at me and basically shrugged his shoulders. They are so busy trying to protect them, but at the same time they are allowing them to do the stuff that is eventually going to get their asses beat. I mean seriously, they were chanting S**tadelphia and security didn't even bat an eye. Of course that all stopped once our section was full. They were all talk to an empty section.
I got yelled at for stomping the beat of chants out. i also got yelled at for tapping the beat out against one of the removable steps in 137. ok, so it was more like kicking gently.
This sounds like a god damn disaster. Didn't see any of these Apex guys in my area, but I do have a big problem with not being able to enter my section (135) from the nearest entrance/exit. Why the hell were the staff not letting people into the tunnel beneath the River End? What was that all about?
Yeah we got a lot of dirty looks when we were stomping while waiting for the players to come out. To me it's part of the intimidation against the opposing team. I guess the next step will be on Wednesday night when we find our plastic seats have been replaced by church pews.
i couldnt hear what he was saying, did he threaten to have you ejected? even the lame ass guy next to me in the collared shirt said they overreacted
