Indeed. They play according to the first team "template" against adults while preparing them selves for the moment they have to lock in a place in the first team. If everything went according to plan a Young team player shouldnot from a tactical and style of play perspective have a problem slotting in when needed because they've been preparing themselves all the time that way. In the Dutch pro clubs the first team MO is being hammered into the youth.
Physically, yes, but I'm not sure they'd be able to keep up with the ideas that other players on the pitch had, much less have the technique to execute on them. In other words, they would probably contribute with winning types of plays, but they would be done in a sloppier, lower ceiling way.
That depends on the quality of the youth team at a given moment, like how far have they progressed in their development while playing against the adults. to Young Ajax two seasons ago became the champions and were technically very skilled. So being physically stronger didnot deliver as the ball was played faster than the adults could get to the youth players to excert their physical headstart. The whole point of playing in that league is to practice and develop yourself in playing the first team style while being bullied by physically stronger opponents. You learn the hard way to become faster exploiting your technical surplus to stay ahead of players throwing in their power.

Ritchie should take a good look at Malen, who joined the first team this season after de Jong left PSV. Malen was lured to Arsenal as a young kid, but got convinced by PSV that his opportunities were better in Eindhoven. Two years of development there brought him into the Orange team and now the talk in the UK is that Arsenal should pay 60 million to get him back. If Ritchie pays attention to what he's being taught at Young PSV and has the goods in him, the opportunities are there. Two former PSV attackers with Napoli managed to bring down Liverpool's defense in the CL!!
There's one live result on youtube when you search psv...not too confident it'll show the actual game though. I've found nothing on the usual stream sites so far
Looks like Claudio Gomes, a French 19 year old on loan from Man City is also starting. He's a pretty highly regarded guy that people describe as being like a Kante. Could be a good opportunity for Ledezma.
this sounds like it is a real test for jong psv. as many have pointed out, this is a side that wants promoted.
doesnt sound like richy (not richie right?) did enough to sharp elbow his way into any first team plans on the basis of today at least

"A quick goal would have helped put Cambuur on the saddle yesterday, but more than a header chance from Robert Mühren the Leeuwarders did not get in the first fifteen minutes. "We had a hard time in the first ten minutes, then we got a young and skillful, agile Jong PSV under control," De Jong observed." I watched the match. Ledezma was good in the first half. Really flashed how rapidly he can receive the ball and translate that into attacking thrust. He's elite with his first touch and attacking on the half-turn. He made a good run into the box and got on the end of a throughball from a tight angle and dragged it just wide first time. Not sure he could have beaten the keeper if it were on frame. Second half was worse. He got sloppy a few times, pulled his head out of challenging the overhead kick that Cambuur scored on (don't blame him too much but it's noteworthy), and generally looked less energetic than he did against Jong Ajax a week ago. He did have a good strike from 20 yards just before full time when he pounced on a loose ball but it went right at the keeper, and was really the only chance Jong PSV created even though Cambuur was down a man. Ledezma wasn't much help unlocking the bunker, to be honest.
Well. This match shows the value of playing as kids in this league. Nothing is given to you, you have to fight for it and when you face a team wanting the 3d place, even with a man more on the pitch, you have to go 90 minutes full throttle trying to get results.
I'm going to ask you this because you keep a close eye on Ledezma. Has there been much difference in how Ledezma plays against other Jong teams compared to the full-on professional teams in the league? His best performance came against Jong AZ and seems like he played well against Jong Ajax. But it's also a very small sample size, so I'm interested if you're noticing anything that jumps out.
The biggest difference is Jong PSV was less able to sustain possession in the opponent's half yesterday, and they couldn't break down a well-organized defense. But Ledezma's ability to do what he wants on the ball, in the first half, was the same against Cambuur as it was against Jong Ajax and Jong AZ. He did struggle in the second half but it was because he made a few errors/sloppy touches, not because he was outgunned.

That would make this thread way less entertaining. All the freaking out would need to move somewhere. I suggest Pynadath switching to India.
