The celebration after his 2nd goal was definitly provacative (or do you say provoking?). The Cologne fans behind the goal got soo mad.

That said, I wish players of my team would celebrate their goals like this, I loved it. :D

Well, I have to say I'm stumped. I'm going through a number of possibilities in my head like Hejduk, Casey, Feilhaber, and Deering, but the ages and results aren't lining up.

Was it Benny Feilhaber? He was 22 when Hamburg gave him that run of games which he played well, but I thought the team was doing poorly at the time.

Never mind - he was 21 at that time.

Actually, Dooley's probably had the best club career of any US men's national team player, so I doubt that's who he's talking about.

He started for the Bundesliga champions back when the Bundesliga was arguably the best league in the world. Unfortunately, this was before he even knew he was eligible for the USMNT.

And now tied with the best scoring defender in the league (no PKs)

I guess Stevie Cherundolo should have been too obvious.

Well, Donovan didn't really start many Bundesliga games during his career so far ;).

The player's Cory Gibbs, btw - not going to check the Kicker ratings, but other than that I'm quite sure.

Ah, Gibbs. Yeah, he started quite a bit his first season in the Bundesliga and was rated decently on St. Pauli.

Unfortunately he's been fairly unlucky since then. St. Pauli got relegated twice, forcing him to spend a couple seasons in lower divisions; and after starting every available game his first season at Feyenoord, he suffered an injury over the summer that took him out of the picture for the club; then he got injured almost immediately after transferring to the Premiership and never got to play a minute for Charlton. I figure if Bradley can just stay relatively injury free, he'll have a much more successful career than Gibbs has had.

it's a stupid comparison to Gibbs. Gibbs career has almost JOB'd itself at this point.

Really before his injury he was looking like our best defender and his career was on a definite upward climb.

The online confirms a (1) for Bradley, and that's a sure 'Team of the Week'

I wonder if that is first time a Yank ever got a (1) from Kicker. Reyna might have done it. Don't think anyone else ever did (Mathis came close)

We once had a bachelor party for Cory. He ate the entire cake before we could tell him there was a stripper in it.

How many times did Kicker rate Cory Gibbs as a 1? Or a 2, for that matter.
Note: This is a rhetorical question.

Damned fine performance by Mikie. Hope there are a lot more in the tank where those came from. Heck, maybe the German National Mannschaft will try and give him a call up. ;)

Seriously, I dont' get the joke. Gibbs was a very good, very athletic, very promising player who has been derailed by a series of untimely injuries.

I don't know what that says about Bradley, or anything for that matter, except to point out how freakin' sad it is when promising players get into difficult injury cycles.
