I know it is preseason but this is plausible starting line up getting lit up by the team who was last in the Eastern Conference last year. Ouch

If the game had lasted another 90 minutes, we'd have won this!

I'm worried Caicedo's injury is worse than initially anticipated. Without him the center of the park looks bleak

It's worth noting that this was arguably our best XI against a mainly reserve side for Orlando City. They were without Klejstan, Dwyer, and Nani just to name a few.

I also keep reminding myself it's only preseason. But holy hell, that's not a good sign with 9 days now left till the season opener.

nope. I have a feeling that this back line is going to be an issue all reason. I think our CB's are over paid and over rated

It certainly seems like we're not at the level of preparedness as the other MLS teams at this point.

Hard to know what the issues are at this point without any stream, but the highlights certainly point to a lot of disorganization, defenders diving in, players not tracking back, no pressure on the ball, ...

The scoreline shows 4 goals given up in a 10 minute span opening the 2nd half - that sounds like a loss of focus as much as anything.

Yup, that's what Toronto said on the flight down to Panama.

so they scored on a cross, terrible marking. An own goal, PK and one through the 5 hole. forgot what the others were. Bye looked out of position on one, think he had the own goal as well

I thought it was Mancienne on the OG. The other goal was a 2nd pk, I believe.

Revs beat 3rd division USL One side coached by former Revs Harkes.

    But they went behind 0-1.

Interesting that they still have a Trialist they still keep a secret. Is there some MLS rule to listing a name?

They also haven’t signed draft pick Jones yet but he is playing.

And they played Academy kids in this game

"I am now officially very concerned with BF and the state of the Revs. We cannot hope to win by "out conditioning" the other team and from what Ive read, we certainly are doing nothing much on offense and the defense still apparently stinks. Hard to be sure since nothing has been streamed

The trialist is the QPR defender Phillips.

This was clearly the 2nd team's chance at some playing time. I'm pretty sure, with games on back-to-back days, that this was always how Friedel had planned it.

As far as I'm concerned, it was a very nice performance for the young guys, but has little bearing on how/what the starters are doing. There isn't any redemption in this one.

It reminds me of the time they brought it Daigo Kobayashi as a trialist but kept referring to him as "Player X". The nickname Secret Asian Man had a pretty short shelf life when they eventually disclosed his name.

I don't know about MLS rules on this, but the Red Bulls also had an "unknown" player in one of their games, so there could be some rule about it. It's pretty silly, TBH, as soccer fans, as a species, are generally pretty good about sleuthing these things out.

The "it's only preseason" line works in the first week of camp, but when we're getting this close to the start of the season and looking really bad against lower-level teams and peer MLS sides missing key players, you can't help but be concerned. We got most of our points in the first couple of months of the season, and somehow I don't see that happening this year....

Well, this is definitely a make or break season for Friedel, and for the Revs. If it goes completely belly up, crow circling belly up, [defined as not making the playoffs in this playoff bountiful season] then it will be very very interesting to see if Brad and Mikey and Brian have learnt the meaning of the word "responsibility".
I have no doubt that if it goes famously then it will be very very interesting to see which of Brad and Mikey and Brian crows loudest as to knowing the meaning of the word "responsibility".

Either way, we're gonna hear crows.
