Source: Tottenham's Samuel Shashoua could be on loan to an MLS club for the 2018 campaign. Hearing New England could be in play.— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) November 15, 2017
1. Get ready for a lot of rumors based on Freidel's presumed connections. 2. MLS's "Rent to own" policy on loans makes this highly unlikely.
Because Tottenham isn't letting go of an 18-year-old prospect. They might want him to get playing time somewhere, but they'll want him back eventually.
It's not really relevant. It just means that our option to buy would be extremely high, and not likely to be met.
We are sort of distant cousins with spurs from the lack of trophies and league titles (since MLS began) to the oversized (temporary) stadium they play in.
Milton Caraglio, out first-ever DP (a.k.a. "The $54,000 Man") says hello. They'll take a player on loan, but it will be a done-deal that they won't sign him ever, if they deem the price too high.
Is anyone surprised Mike Burns doesn't have any acquisitions on this list? Best of MLS: The Top 10 Acquisitions of 2017 November 16, 2017, 3:13PM EST Benjamin Baer According to the latest MLSPA salary chart (Sep 2017) There are currently 31 players making over $1M. Other than Jones, the Revs have never had a $1M player. So don't tell me Kraft has no problem spending money on players.
I shudder to think how bad we would have been without Delamea. His acquisition was, maybe not top 10, but definitely still fantastic.
Should New England compete with ATL and throw money at Portland for Darlington Nagbe!? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...hopping-star-darlington-nagbe-atlanta-running
I would say no since so similar to our existing players, IMO. Maybe I'm slightly jaded that I do not rate Nagbe as highly as others do
agree. Nagbe wants $1 million a year. If Nagbe plays as an 8, then Caldwell is our poor man's Nagbe. Not as good as Nagbe but, IMO, not very far behind, and at a far smaller salary. Playing both Nagbe and Caldwell would make for some very pretty soccer, but we'd have a soft spine. If Nagbe plays on the wing, well we already have Rowe, who I prefer to Nagbe. Similar skill set, but Rowe is more aggressive.
I thought Dellamea got exposed way too often and Soehn was right to put him on the bench to finish the season.
I never thought it was benching as much as it was garbage time and they wanted to see Angoua and Dielna who the club may have been on the fence about.
I think Brad did say on one of the broadcasts that Tom had said some of the playing was based on merit in training, etc. Maybe that is why Tom didn't get the job, or he was saying it to look at the bubbles like BLBI says.
Soehn needed wins in order to have any shot at keeping the job or to burnish his resume for his next gig. I don't think he was doing any experimentation. He put out what he thought was his best 11.
So the Revs will have the 8th (PHI, for Davies) and 9th (natural) picks in the first round of the 2018 SuperDraft.
And as they have done in the past--maybe they bundle the two to trade up t get a heifer pick fpr a player they really want. We all know at this point with the way the quality in the league has exploded any draft pick is a crap shoot but very once in awhile a gem can be found. It may have lost it's luster but the draft still makes my pulse race
I'd rather use the 2 picks, doubling the chance that they find a player. Although last time we were in that situation, the result was underwhelming.
Big staffing update for #NERevs: Tottenham's Anton McElhone named head of fitness. Will also do sports science for club.— Julian Cardillo (@JulianCardillo) December 14, 2017
