If we're going to be playing there, the least they could do is name the arena next door after Bobby Orr

I think the MetroStars once had a trophy for winning some sort of pre-season tournament. I remember seeing the pic of them holding it high after beating the Tough Guys in Cloudy Jade, a.k.a. San Jose Clash in the final. Until they won the SS a couple of years ago, that was their only "trophy"

At least we got an Open Cup and a SuperLiga, and even if you don't rate them, they are much, much more worthy than that.

That would be the La Manga Cup.

I know for myself it's like kissing your sister but I do think those nice glass trophies we've won for winning the East a 5 times should be included in the mix. We haven't won the big ones yet but I think we can be proud of record.

Come on Doc, no one celebrates a Silver Medal. It was ridiculous when the many Bruins conference winner titles used to hang from the garden. Who freakin' cares! You have to win THE final, not the ECF final to receive recognition.

Ah yes, there are unidimensional myopic thinkers and then there are those gifted with the ability to mine positivity out of a more global level of discernment.

hahaha well I guess my profound "negativity" for wanting to win represents pretty much every competitive sports fan on the planet...

Are you suggesting I'm not competitive? :)

No seriously, till this franchise wins The Cup and qualify to wear a star on the kits they will be second tier no matter how may times they get to the Final. That said, that doesn't diminish "winning" the East trophy five times. All I was saying, yes it's less than but it not nothing. Do I want The Cup. The Shield, The CCL Championship? ABSOLUTELY

It's really your refusal to acknowledge anything other than winning it all. You should keep in mind, that when the Revs win MLS Cup, they still won't really be successful, because they won't have won the FIFA World Club Championship. After all, who cares about 2nd best?

In the words of the legendary Ricky Bobby, f you ain't first, you're last! ;)

One step at a time. I want the revs to win their LEAGUE, then think about the CCL and eventually the FIFA Club World Cup.
