I'm sure Ronaldo and Gio will have a great partnership.

Ronaldo has adapted his game as he's gotten older so I'm sure he'd still be ruthless in MLS at 37 if he's played as a striker whose only job is to finish chances.

He'd also sellout every single stadium he plays in.

I commend Ronaldo for making this move. If Juventus are indeed his last club and he's successful, he'll have made it in 3 of the top 4 leagues on the planet.

I'd also like to see Messi get out of his comfort zone. He is undoubtedly one of the best players who ever lived but after this last World Cup, I think his claim on greatest is a little weaker. He's played for the same elite club his entire career, with his prime coinciding with that of Xavi and Iniesta, arguably the most effective midfield partnership of all time.

The man he's often compared to, Maradona, for all his antics and demons, significantly elevated his teams in his prime. I'd argue that Messi has yet to be that guy.

I heard that Messi wants to come to LA in 2020. They are looking for sponsorship deals and possibly acting deals...

We should get Herbalife to do a Fiat and pay for him to come now. We'll give them an extra 20% if they take Gio off us.

Wonder if Sigi would play him at right back.

He would be better than our current right backs albeit at my height 5' 7" he is shorter than most wing backs.

I don’t follow Messi that much, but he does t seem the type of person interested in acting. Honestly I think “they” throw that out all the time when it comes to signing for an LA team. Beckham, Xavier, Zlatan were all reported to want to act, none of them have.

David Beckham had a cameo in the King Arthur movie that came out last year.

He was, he was also in the Man from U.N.C.L.E. but both of those were made by a his friend Guy Ritchie films shot in Europe. It’s not exactly the Hollywood movie career the rags implied Beckham was seeking as part of his move to LA.

Outside of the fact that Beckham can't act and has a voice for print ads, I don't really see what's holding back his acting career....

To be fair acting skills aren’t a requirement for an acting career.

As a professional who has worked in Hollywood for 20 years as of this August, I have no idea what you are talking about.......

I will say this, in a quick thread hijack, because nobody really cares what I have to say on this, except you guys (but only because I'm the moderator here so you have to humor me)...

Actors get a bad rap because of the few bad apples. But 99% of the actors I meet and work with, especially the most famous ones, are genuinely nice people and work VERY HARD at what they do. And take it seriously and have spent years and years working diligently on their craft. Most famous actors made it to that level because they work their asses off and are wonderful human beings.

Of course, then one talentless and classless hack gets his or her 15 minutes and is a total ass and makes everyone hate the pampered, elite childish actors who get paid millions of dollars to hang out in their trailers all day and post pictures on Instagram....

Beckham strikes me as someone in that 99%, which is probably why he doesn't actually try to do any real acting, since he recognizes his limitations....

I think film/TV acting, probably only a little less so than modeling, is one of those jobs folks underestimate in terms of effort required.

I once met Jack Nicholson at the Great Western Forum before a Laker playoff game against the Spurs. He was very kind to my friend and me and we spoke for nearly 30 mins about the Lakers and life in general. He seemed very down to earth. I've also met Uncle Phil of Fresh Prince too and shared a smoke with him in the back area of Disneyland (I worked there) and he was also very nice and seemed just like any other dude.

If I could transfer anyone to the Galaxy, it would be Modric. The contrast between he and Gio is huge. Gio is a disgrace in terms of effort and doesn't look for his teammates.

I'd take Pirlo over Gio. A true 10 would do wonders for the Gs offensively and defensively (keeping possession).
