Yeah says right in the interview it's related to Jesse contacting him after taking the Quakes GM job due to knowing him at Roma. The other cool thing is he says is he's a fullback who sees it the job of the modern fullback to be equally a defender and attacker, which is certainly interesting given the ongoing discussion about what Sarkodie is and isn't. He's a well spoken young man and it'll be interested to watch him play.

Very interesting accent. He speaks English with an English accent generally but his "uh / er" between words or sentences have an Italian flare. Even his name is hybrid (Italian first name, English last name). I think he said his father is English and mother is Italian. I guess he is like Jesse in that way, who has a German accent with his English, but some meaure of Italian influence in there as well..

TT and Lima playing like they want to be starters. Watch both get banished to the bench against Montreal.

No Sarkodie in this match. Maybe carrying a little knock? Or Dom is resting him for his start against Montreal :-(?

THOMPSON’S TALLY LEADS EARTHQUAKES PAST 1868 FC IN PRESEASON FRIENDLY

Reno 1868 FC welcomed Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes in the club’s inaugural friendly Saturday afternoon at Greater Nevada Field. With 6,289 fans in attendance, San Jose walked away as 1-0 victors thanks to 2017 first-round pick Tommy Thompson’s tally in the 40th minute.

6,289 attendance is pretty impressive, it will be interesting to see how they do on that front... if they could average around that in the regular season it would put them alongside teams like Louisville, San Antonio, and Tampa Bay.

Oh and here's actual video of TT's goal:

Realistically, we didn't expect any of them to make the first team 18 this weekend. They should play in Reno and that gives them all a better change to make it in future if they can play well. I haven't seen anything to suggest there will be a stream but we can hope.

I read on the reddit sub that there will be a stream on youtube. I think someone said they'd post a link later...

It's a brand new team. And it's still the preseason in USL for two more weeks.

Given that it is the preseason, it's pretty impressive how many games they've been streaming...

Sadly, Colvey is passing backwards at every opportunity and Silva is out with injury.

Yueill played well, even out of position. Colvey did not. He's not playing like he wants Francis' slot at all.

Not sure why, but Kip looks a lot more comfortable playing left back. He is right footed.

Yeah, none of the Quakes loanees played in a position where they should have played...weird.

Also concerning. What is the benefit of playing them in positions they are unlikely to play with the Quakes? I could see that with a team like Sac Republic (just an arrangement for an unaffiliated team) but why fund your own team in USL if they are not developing your roster guys in your positions of need?
