They are becoming fewer and fewer, and getting noticed more and more when they type of defense is successful.
Er... well, sometimes we talk about the weather... Nah, it was just something of note that a couple of old farts with time on their hands might gossip about. Around where I live that sort of thing just doesn't happen. Well, OK! Obviously it does but y'know what I mean. It's newsworthy IOW.
Sex workers say that recent U.S. legislation to shut down sex ads on craiglist and backpage.com will make their work more dangerous - https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/10/health/sex-workers-craigslist-personals-trafficking-bill/index.html The bill was allegedly passed for their safety, but of course politicians couldn't be bothered about sex workers' safety. It was a public-relations bill, to show that they were taking a stand against sex trafficking and child prostitution. (Never mind that however one finds trafficked women and prostitutes, it's probably not going to be on an open website that law enforcement can easily monitor.)
I think this story fits in here and takes aim at key source of the problem. avclublink edit to add: the "Crews" mentioned is actor Terry Crews.
Somewhere on reddit there's someone going, "Terry Crews, who is that beta cuck?" Oh. Nevermind. Have a nice day.
Interesting timing in light of this news about a sex cult, where apparently one guy got women to recruit other women to join his organization, which meant having sex with him. https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/20/entertainment/allison-mack-arrested/index.html Weird stuff. Then again, aside from the sex and a few other odd things (like branding!), how different is it from any religion that aggressively seeks converts and has a us vs. them attitude against nonbelievers?
Most religions don't collect naked photos of you and threaten to out them if you try to leave, and then use that threat to keep you in sexual slavery.
Most religions don't make you shave your head, give them your worldly possessions, and cut off your friends. But if they do, we give them tax protection, no?
East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker/Golden State Killer, responsible for at least 12 murders and over 50 rapes in California in the 1970s and 1980s has been arrested. https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/25/us/golden-state-killer-development/index.html
It sure took them a while. He seems to be as bad a person as his crimes suggest, which is saying a lot. People like this test my view on the death penalty.
